California Grill Menu?

Currently, I'm trying to get an ADR at California Gill for my upcoming trip and I've looked over the menu. Nothing really jumps out at me and I'm somewhat of a picky eater, but despite all of this I am determined to eat there because the atmosphere just looks amazing. Also, I figure part of my problem may be that the menu doesn't describe a whole lot about the actual meal. It says what it's served with, but I guess I'm just looking for some more detail.

What did you get at the California Grill and what did you think about it?

Thanks :goodvibes

I'm a picky eater myself. CG's menu changes seasonally, so they may have a couple of different items on the menu when you go. Last year my sister got the goat cheese ravioli as her appetizer. She wouldn't stop raving about it and still is, a year later  However, it's served as just one large ravioli w/ tomato sauce and it's $13. :scared: Then we split a chicken dish for our main course, it was ok. One piece of white meat, the rest dark...served on vegetables. They didn't have the flatbreads when we were there, unfortunately, but if they do when you go, get one! They are so good!!!

Thanks! Yes, I've seen the flatbreads and definitely considering getting one and maybe a soup or something. I just don't know if it would be inappropriate to go to such a nice restaurant and only get appetizer type stuff. But, hey, I can't help it if the entrees don't appeal to me.

I think it's absolutely fine to order and appetizer and a soup. I ate there last week and we (family of 4) shared the Triple Cheese Flatbread and it was great! My son ordered the goat cheese ravioli and we all had a bite - delish! My DH ordered the squash soup and loved it. I had a taste and it was so good. He also ordered the pan roasted sea bass and said it was the best fish he's ever had. I ordered the pork tenderloin which was fantastic! Sometimes I think they get carried away with the descriptions but when the meal comes, it all just goes so well together. I say go for it!

I have been there 3 times last year and ordered only sushi and flatbread each time (once I got a dessert.)

Thanks all! I just got an ADR there (luckily!) so now it's just all about deciding what to order. Anybody else have anything super fantastic?

I had the pork tenderloin with goat cheese polenta and mushrooms. I think it is their signature dish. It was wonderful. We also shared the Malibu roll. If you like sushi, this is amazing. We also shared the warm chocoate cake. yum

The pork tenderloin with goat cheese polenta is to die for! I also like their flatbreads. The tomato soup is wonderful!

Alright! So what I gather is that the pork tenderloin, flatbreads, and goat cheese ravioli are the great menu items. Might have to try those things :goodvibes

We always thought that too until we ate there..the food was unbelieveable! I had the pork and DH had the filet...excellent!

I've been too lazy to post my pictures of my visit a month ago. I ordered a bowl of soup (seasonal squash; probably will change soon) and one of my favorite sushi rolls.

I've had the pork entree and enjoyed it, but I'm a bigger fan of their appetizers, flatbreads and sushi.

We usually end up ordering fish entrees, which change regularly, and have never been disappointed. I always intend to try the pork tenderloin but then something else always catches my eye!

We have eaten there a few times. We LOVE the food every time. Here are some of the things we have eaten:

Spicy Kazan Roll - excellent sushi roll
Triple Cheese Flatbread- very tasty with just the right amount of pesto and garlic
Sweet Corn Chowder with bacon fritter-
Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli- very large single ravioli
Pork Tenderloin with goat cheese polenta- WOW!
Crispy Chicken with handmade pasta
Day Boat Scallops with pears and gnocchi
Steak with teriyaki glace

Everything we have eaten there was amazing and we can't wait to go back there in May!

The menu changes daily based on what is fresh at the market. There are some dishes that remain on the menu as their signature items. They also are very accomodating so if there is an appetizer you want as a main course they will usually make the change without a problem.
ENJOY :)
