Excited to try dinner at California Grill during an upcoming trip. In your experience, how long does a meal take? Thinking wine, apps, entrees, dessert, the whole nine yards! We are a party of 6 if that makes a difference. I was hoping to plan the ADR so we'd be done with our dinner before the fireworks begin.

Appreciate the DIS expertise!

I usually finish a signature in about 90 minutes, but it's just myself and young son so not a lot of lingering/chatting. For a group of 6 and with the full 3 courses, drinks, etc... I would plan for 2 hours to be on the safe side.

We are of the opinion that a nice meal shouldn't be rushed so we plan on 2 hours. Sometimes we go even longer.

It can really go however long no you want. 2-3 hours would be my guess

Can you clarify the fireworks? Cg has no issue with serving around the fireworks. They know it is one of the main draws. Often dessert will come after fireworks so everyone can go outside to watch.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like 2 hours is the consensus.

Sure! We just really enjoy good dining and would prefer to focus on the food, conversation and experience for this particular dinner. Didn't want to chance any food hitting the table around the time fireworks begin either. I was hoping we could finish, grab a drink from the bar, and head outside.

Thanks for the dessert tip! I'll try to set up the ADR for 2 hours before but that's great to know in case things run long.

In my experience the wait staff are pros at pacing your meal so your food won't hit when you are watching the fireworks. Or right before. They have the timing down, no worries!

Our reservation was at 7:30 and our waiter specifically asked us if we wanted to stay through fireworks as he would pace our meal if we did.

We are usually there 2 hours. We tend to savour and enjoy the food and restaurant. During that time other tables will come and go.
If you are a group of 6, I would suspect you will be 2 hours easily. Enjoy!
