California Grill - Business Casual???

OK, I havent been employeed (kids) outside the home in 4 years. What does Disney expect you to wear to the CG for dinner? Do I really need to "dress up"?

They provide that information when you make a reservation - I believe they told me today something about "business casual" - but the only restaurant that has a required (vs recommended) dress code is Victoria & Albert. You could wear jeans to CG and they wouldn't turn you away - you just might feel out of place.

Even in business, business casual means a lot of things. On the East Coast its likely Dockers and going tieless. On the West Coast I've seen it mean flip flops and shorts that weren't cut offs.

What they want is for you to show up clean and tidy - perferably in clothes you'd wear "out." It doesn't mean "go to a wedding" dressup (though you can get away with that), but it doesn't mean "I last wore this t-shirt to cut the lawn in" either.

No muscle shirts, no short shorts, no tube tops or halter tops. Nothing appropriate for Sturges. Resort shorts (i.e. longer shorts, skorts) would be OK, as would nice jeans. Dockers would be great for both men and women.

When we dined at CG last March, we wore "nicer" jeans and dressier tops w/ no problems. In fact, we were told that jeans w/ a polo type shirt was accaptable for men and jeans w/ a blouse for women. Since jeans are becoming more acceptable, I see no problem wearing them. And let me tell ya, when I pay over $100 for my jeans I better be able to wear them when I want too

Jeans and/or dress shorts are fine at CG.

Thank goodness!! I dont own a lot of dressy clothes. I dont get out much with the small kiddies
