We have been to WDW scores of times but never ate at CG. I was able to get a last minute 9:15PM ADR with 10:00PM Wishes.

We arrived at 9:00PM took a quick seat in the lounge area and were seated at our table within 5 minutes. I was surprised at how loud the restaurant was. I expected a much quieter romantic atmosphere but I was wrong. Kids were running around everywhere. It was not unpleasant just completely different from waht we expected.

We ordered the cheese tray, a mushroom truffle flatbread, the Yellow Fin Tuna 3 ways and the bonsai roll.

The cheese tray was fun and unique to us. It went very well with the glass of red wine I had. The flatbread was delicious. It had a perfect crust and the mushrooms and the rest of the toppings were great. The sushi was good, not great just good. We are big sushi eaters and I can honestly say I have had better many times before.

We took a break mid-meal and ventured onto the catwalk viewing area for Wishes. The music was clear and the view of Wishes was spectaular. When we got back to our seats our sushi was waiting.

Our waitress was very nice but the service was disappointing. We waited long between the first two courses. We asked for drink refills and waited forever for her to return. She mentioned bread was coming several times but she never brought it. Maybe she was covering extra tables but whatever the reason the service was the worst I have ever received at a WDW restaurant.

Overall we are glad we did CG. It was a great experience even though we had different expectations. I wont rush back anytime soon but I would have done it all over again.

No offense, but with people coming and going in concordance with MK fireworks, how could service possibly be seamless?

This is a busy time of yr and with everyone wanting to see Wishes from CG I cant say Im suprised.. We had the bonsai and the spicy kazan roll and really liked it!

I think in any WDW restaurant you can expect kids after all WDW is first and foremost for kids right? I think the only place you wont find kids is V&A.

I dont have a problem with kids but I get upset when parents are to busy to make sure the kids are behaving and not running around disturbing other guests.

I had expectations going into the meal that I had made by reading other reviews and websites so I dont blame anybody. Regarding the service, it wasnt worth complaining about nor did I really reflect it in our servers tip but even with the fireworks and chaos, other tables had full beverages and bread.

But you said it, "even with the fireworks and chaos..". This means seamless service is bound to exist. You may have gotten the short end of it this time but next time perhaps it will be someone else. Why blame servers (or the restaurant) ... Or even mention it when under the circumstances normal expectations are nearly impossible to meet?
