Did anyone go on cruise when it went out of California. Did it leave San Diego and end in Port Canaveral? How many days was it and what was itinerary/Ports? I am really hoping they have added some of these to the 2008 cruise options. Was it around the same price as Eastern/Western, or more expensive? How many days was it? I would love to take a cruise and start in disneyland and end in DisneyWorld, that would be so fun and unfortunately I think it is the only way I can get DH to go out to California.

I went on the Panama Canal cruise in Aug 2005. It went out of LA port..(San pedro) back to Port Canaveral. it was 14 nights. We stopped at 2 ports in Mexico, thru Panama Canal, and stopped at Castaway Cay. I am not sure if there are any plans for PC cruise in near future, but it is possible. . I paid $6100 for a Verandah Cabin for party of 4. It was awesome!! i am doing the 14 night cruise again from Europe to Florida next summer.

We didn't go, but a dear friend of mine took her son and niece on the Disney Cruise out of LA during the summer of '05.

The cruise left from Port Angeles and went down the west coast of Mexico. I think she told me it had 3 stops but they didn't get off at all the ports.

I didn't ask about price. Sorry.

I have to say that as a West Coaster, I would love to do the trip you mentioned (Disneyland, Cruise down Mexico, through Panama Canal and back up through the Caribbean to Disney World)!

We did not take either repo cruise from Florida or back, but we did take one of the 7-day Mexico cruises out of San Pedro. We stopped in Puerta Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas. The cost for the four of us in a verandah stateroom was $7100. We booked the first day the cruise was announced and therefore received early booking rates and since we live in Southern California airfare was not needed. The price was higher than the rates had been the previous year out of Florida...but we're glad we went!

We took the cruise from CA to FL through the Panama Canal. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Come on....14 days in pure heaven!

We were also on the eastbound Panama Canal cruise. In addition to the ports already mentioned, we stopped at Curacao.

Woody, you cruise with my friend "dairyou." THey almost cruised with us on the double scoop, but things came up.

Our double scoop cruise was about half the cost (in a Cat 9) as our West Coast Mexican Riviera cruise.

I sailed with my 10 year old GD on the 6/11/05 cruise which was a 7 day cruise. I had booked it on 6/8/05 after me TA found a cancellation for me. The cruise left from Los Angeles, at the San Pedro Harbor.

She and I were in a Category 6 cabin which set me back $5,256.16 (without airfare as I had two free airline tickets on Southwest).

Since I have been to Disneyland more times than I can count since 1955 and she goes at least twice a year we skipped Disneyland. We flew into Lax on Saturday morning and took a limo to the boat which was $49.00 each way.

In Puerto Vallerta my GD and I swam with the Dolphins at the Dolphin Adventure.

In Mazatlán, we rode horses, had lunch and swam at the Hacienda de las Moras which is 30 minutes northeast of Mazatlán, a deserted agave ranchhouse and tequila distillery has been transformed into a tasteful, tranquil guest ranch. The 3,000-acre ranch is a refuge for both humans and animals, from miniature horses to exotic pure-white peacocks. A small white chapel sits atop a slight ridge overlooking the property, with the Sierra Madres rising in the background. The original stables, hacienda, and tequila-factory buildings have been completely renovated with attention to detail, and several new casitas are filled with classic Mexican touches.

In Cabo San Lucas. we had beach day and lunch buffet at the Hotel Finisterra which is a short distance from the famous El Arco rock formation and walking distance from downtown Cabo.

Itinerary was as follows:
Sat 06/11/2005 Los Angeles, California 05:00 PM
Sun 06/12/2005 At Sea
Mon 06/13/2005 At Sea
Tue 06/14/2005 Puerto Vallarta, Mexico 07:00 AM 05:30 PM
Wed 06/15/2005 Mazatlán, Mexico 07:00 AM 08:00 PM
Thu 06/16/2005 Cabo San Lucas, Mexico 06:00 AM 04:00 PM
Fri 06/17/2005 At Sea
Sat 06/18/2005 Los Angeles, California 08:30 AM

Hope this answers your questions.

Too bad they did not join us last month. It was fab!

The Disney cruises from the West Coast were very popular and very expensive. (Those of us in Southern California did not have to fly cross county, did not have to stay in hotels or rent cars, and could drive our own car to the port -- what novel concepts!) No wonder (no pun intended) there are rumours of having a ship on the West Coast.

How was your visit to USH?

Short. There were a couple more shows I would have liked to have done, but my youngest really wanted to go back and play with his cousin (who was supposed to join us that day, but his parents decided he should stay home when the weather prediction became "potential showers in the afternoon").

The kids loved the Studio Tour. Mummy was "tamer" than they would have liked (esp. after Expedition Everest I guess they were expecting more). My youngest got scared in the cue, and would not even go on the ride (even though I know he would have liked the ride).

As for rides, they liked the Tour, then Jurrasic Park, then Back to the Future. City Walk was fun (esp. the Nascar cars and the guitar at Hard Rock). On a warmer day we would have done the water stuff as well.

As for other stuff- dairyou wanted to do WDW on the same vacation as the cruise, but didn't want to do Thanksgiving week or Jersey week at WDW. I think they may be considering one of the Med. cruises-I see her teen son more than I see her, and he is often left out of the vacation planning loop. I'm sure their family would have loved our Nov. cruise with the calm seas and beautiful 2 stops at CC! :cloud9:

I'm glad you had an enjoyable time.

that's right..i knew i forgot one other port!!;) and that's one was my favorite stops! We were suppose to stop at Cabo San Lucas but the Hurricane Hilary in area kept us away, thus stopping at Mazatlan instead.

Thanks for all the responses I would really like to do this!!! I can't wait to see what 2008 summer has in store. I am sure no matter what I won't be dissapointed, if it is different than what is currently offered I am all for it

If the "2008 Asia Rumor" turns out to be true. I believe there would probably be a couple of Panama Canal Repos offered considering that would probably be the most logical route to take a ship to Asia. Unless DCL will be offereing their very first world cruise!!!;)

It was one of our favorites, too!

Perhaps you're thinking of Manzanillo?

The eastbound repo stopped in Manzanillo (not sure of the spelling) instead of Cabo due to Hurricane Hillary.

Any idea whan the summer 2008 schedule will be out I just checked and right now it is only out to April 2008. We are looking to do another cruise and would love to do something different. We are taking eight people and Asia sounds $$$$$$!

With the Summer Olympics is Beiijing in August 2008, I wonder (no pun intended) if Disney see big $$$'s also.

:cheer2:

The big difference in using Disney verses the cruiselines is Disney costs double and instead having a balcony with were in the bowels of the ship.
Don't get me wrong the ship is very nice, but using the same ports of call, the price was alittle tuff to swallow.
