California Adventures Update Photos

Look at that! I leave for work for the day and come back, and we have 20 replies! Glad to see the photos were worthwhile. I will try to get some more as changes are made.

Cheers everyone :goodvibes

Hmm, I am very excited to see the finished product of all of this. I have to admit...I actually don't think the Sunwheel looks any better, I actually think it looks uglier, which I wasn't expecting. I am very excited for the water show though, from the pictures so far it looks like it will be amazing.

Thanks for posting the pics!

I felt the same way from looking at the pictures, but in person it's GORGEOUS. Daytime, nighttime, just lovely. I was shocked.

And on this trip I even rode the Sun, er, Mickey head, wheel of death. :upsidedow

OMG the colors and the lights are so pretty. I did not like the mickey face either until I saw this........ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=631FqQalsQo&feature=related

Okay, seeing it like that is much cooler! I guess the daytime photo just didn't look very impressive (especially assuming it was quite expensive to make the change). But the lights definitely peak my interest, I can't wait to see all of this in person.

Thank you so much for posting these photos as well as the construction/closure updates! I will be there in August so it is very helpful to know what we should expect.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but, when will he water be put back in the "lake"? I'm not going until November but I had no idea of all of these changes until this week...just curious how long it is going to look like the pictures posted here?

The viewing area opens in December and the show opens next March. I have heard as early as September or as late as March. Some day the bay will be wet again.

Heal the Bay is a local beach clean up group and should have a DCA chapter.:lmao:

Is this an every night occurance? I did not notice it on the calendar of events on DL page. I guess it goes on from dusk till park closing? THAT IS VERY PRETTY...I LIKEY THAT, but during the day the mickey head is such an eyesore. I liked it better when cali screamin had the ears.

We will be at DLR in little over a week. We are bringing DBIL DSIL & DN. Their first trip to Cali. It is a shame most of DCA will be under construction. Good excuse to go back ;).

This may be a dumb question, but what with all the construction and the water drained out of Paradise Pier, is anything in that area of the park still running? :scared:

All of the rides in Paradise Pier are currently operating. Mickey's Fun Wheel recently opened up like a month ago. The Orange Stinger is going down for a long refurb in August, and won't open up until next spring I think. But other than that, the Pier rides are still fully operational.
