I have a ressie for Cali Grill at 9:15pm on a night when Wishes is at 8pm.

Can we go up early to see the fireworks?

I've been up there before when anyone could go up anytime, but it was before the new 'private' check in system. I haven't gone up since.
We have someone in our group who's never been up to the roof.
I've been going up there since it was just a lounge and had the Top of the World dinner show.....good old days of not a sole up there. Just us and the cocktail waitress in her little fluffy uniform (I wanted to grow up and work there so I could wear the fluffy skirt uniform).princess:

So, Can we go up over an hour early and go out on the roof (on the bathroom side instead of the dining room side) while we wait for our table?

I'm sorry that no one who knows the answer to your question has been on this thread. I don't know, but I think the answer is no. If you have an earlier reservation you can go back up to view the fireworks but I don't think that the reverse is true.

I do think that there is some other place in the CR where you can go to get a view of the fireworks but not as great of a view as from the CA Grill. Why don't you try a search on the CR thread under Resorts and see what you can find? If you stumble upon any posts by CRfanforlife (or something close to that) I expect you can find your answer through a Private Message.

thanks alot for the info.

I actually am heading down to the world for a quick weekend trip next weekend and I decided to check out Cali Grill on the reservations....voila I got another one and this time it's at 9:40 and the Summer Fireworks show is at 10, so PERFECT TIMING.

I'm debating on keeping the other reservation that I was asking about in Sept. While I'm up there next weekend, I'll ask a CM about it. We were just gonna head up early during the Sept. trip and order a drink or two before dinner and see the view. But if it's not allowed, we will already have had our fix this upcoming trip and my friend will get to see if for the first time.
I also want to feel for myself how the ambiance is since I'm used to the old quiet lounge that used to be there. I've heard it's very loud and I'm not a fan of that.
I just really want to experience it again the new way.
Maybe in Sept. it will get bumped for Artist Point (another one I haven't tried yet) or maybe I will spend the time in between trips dreaming every night about returning to the Cali Grill?

...either way I'm excited.
(thank goodness there's no free dining now so the reservations were opened up more!)

oh yeah, btw, there is another viewing areas at CR. It's out the balcony of the shops level. I've been there many times as well and it is an excellent view (with the monorail going over your head). It even has some seats now because it's a popular spot. That became my spot after Cali Grill closed off...but now it's getting swarmed too.

Did I mention I hate when Disney steals my special quiet spots??

(my other favorite viewing spot for fireworks was inside the MK at the tommorrowland terrace..now the dessert party location. They took that away from me now too and blocked it off. I used to be the only one there too dangit!..lol)

I'd find another great special quiet viewing spot, but Disney will probably end up during it into a Character Buffet within a year!!

You are thinking of the 4th floor observation deck which is located just past the Fantasia Market and it's the public viewing area for Wishes.
