We are going to California Grill (my mom's birthday is on Halloween so we are celebrating) and then we will be heading to MK for MNSSHP. What is the dress code here on Halloween? Can kids be in costumes? I asked a CM when I made the ADR the other day and she wasn't sure.

As much as I don't like it, they don't seem to much enforce the dress code there.

I saw a young couple there, she wore an appropriate dress, he had on jeans and a t-shirt with what looked like a band's logo on it. So whatever, but I bet she would have appreciated it if he was a little more dressed up.

As for kids in costumes on halloween, I'd think it would be fine. At least I wouldn't have any issues with it. I think even some adults' costumes would be okay. Becuase it's halloween.

Curious?? What is the usual dress code at Cali Grill? I had no idea places at Disney had dress codes other than V&A....only been once and did mostly character meals for DD:confused3 :confused3

I do not think that Halloween Costumes qualify as "Business Casual".
I think it would depend on the costume, if it were a girl dressed up as Cinderella, that would be a costume, but wouldn't it also be in the dress code requirments, since she'd be wearing a dress.

We were there last year on a MNSSHP night, and there were LOTS of people at our early seating in costumes - grown ups and kids. And certainly not all of them met the "business casual" dress code.

I'd encourage you to be selective in your costumes - this is not the time to let Junior give into his "zombie gore costume."

I wasn't planning on my children wearing "zombie costumes"

At this point I don't know what they will go as but it will be a disney character, of course.

I was just wondering if it was okay if my kids wore their costumes. I guess we will just bring them and they can get dressed into them after dinner so we don't offend anyone.

I think it would be a better idea to have the kids change into their costumes after dinner anyway. Not because of the dress code but because they would be eating. My nieces are always dripping stuff or wiping their hands on their clothes. We always dress them after dinner so they don't ruin their costumes. After dinner they get changed in the restroom.

If your kids want to wear thier costumes at the Cali grill on Halloween, I'd say go for it. You woudln't be offending me.

Your children won't offend anyone. It will be Halloween and at WDW. princess: pirate:

I didn't mean to offend. I have a nine year old boy and dressing up as the goriest thing he can come up with is what he wants to do. Over dinner, nope.

(You will see kids in scary costumes at MNSSHP - not everyone goes as a Disney character).

I think its fine. We saw kids in costumes last year in October when we were there. It's Halloween....if they didn't have their costumes on, I think it would be offensive;)
