Hi
Sorry I am sure this is a newbie question! We will be at the GF 3/2 - 3/5 and I wanted to get a nice b-day cake sent to our room for my sisters birthday. Can some one give me some advice on doing this? Is there a thread about this with pics? Anyone know who I should call?

Thanks!!!

I think you can do this since you are staying at the GF. you have to preorder it, and pay for it. I had a 3-D chocolate Mickey delivered to my room with tuxedo strawberries. Call the resort itself and ask to be put through to the bakery. You can also have it delivered to any restaurant at the GF.

You can call Private Dining at the GF and they will set this up for you. They also have other treats that you can have sent to the room as well. The number is on the cake thread over on the Restaurants Board. Cakes should be ordered just a couple of weeks before arrival, and other treats that are "exclusive" to the GF can be ordered with a couple of days notice.

Does anyone know if this can be done at any resort? We're staying at CSR (LEAVING TOMORROW!!!).

Thanks!

We had a birthday cake delivered to our room at the Poly on 1/18. We called private dining and arranged to have it delivered while we were at the MK. I know it can be done at the Poly, GF, and CR. I'm not sure about CSR or other moderates.

NativeNYer - how was the Poly cake - what did you get? I am staying there in two weeks and thinking about getting want delivered to our room for our DD2's birthday. Was it good? Thanks!

I arranged a cake for my wife in 2002 when we stayed at the Boardwalk. I was her birthday while we were there.

I just spoke to someone at the front desk and they connected me with someone at the hotel. It cost about $30 for a personalized cake. They had it all set up for us when we got back to the room that night. They also decorated the table area of the room with balloons and confetti. And they threw in a resort mug as well. I think there was a birthday card from Mickey, too, but I might be confusing that with another trip.

The decorations and the resort mug were a nice surprise as they never mentioned it when I ordered the cake.

We got the Mickey head cake. It had vanilla cake and chocolate and vanilla frosting. You can get chocolate cake if you prefer. They put the cake on a gold platter and wrote happy birthday and my nephew's name on it. We called private dining the day before to have it ready and waiting for us when we returned from the parks for our afternoon rest. They brought plates, forks, a knife, candles, and matches. The cake was DELICIOUS!!! It was totally worth it.

another thing you might consider is having a card sent to your room signed by her favorite character. we did this for my sister last year when we went in june for her doctorate graduation. we arrived on a friday, i went down on saturday and it arrived on Tuesday!! i was really cute, it had a picture of Cinderella and with a peronal message and signed by Cinderella with 3 Cinderella balloons. All i did was go to the front desk and ask. And the best part, it was free! the smile on her face was priceless. I have never done the cake thing, but thought this might add an extra 'disney' touch.
