I am struggling in picking a wedding cake flavor. My DF is not a big fan of chocolate, and I am not sure how I feel about yellow cake. The filling choices all sound amazing, but not sure how they would go with yellow. I was kind of hoping to have white cake as an option.
So here is my question, does anyone have any suggestions for our cake flavors?
DF did say we could maybe do chocolate cake with the white mouse with strawberries in it, but like I said he is not a fan of chocolate at all let alone a full cake of it.

Thanks for your help!

When we went for the tasting we didn't like all the ones most people on here raved about!LOL There are a bunch of options but they just didn't taste good to us! We ended up picking the bottom layer marble cake with german chocolate filling, and the top layer chocolate cake with buttercream filling. It's simple but what we liked best. I should add that we are not big cake eaters. Also the yellow cake we did not like at all. We felt the marble was much better. JMHO.

We loved almost all the combos we tried.

We ended up with almond cake and amaretto filling
Chocolate cake with peanut butter
And yellow cake with raspberry.

You could always do plain buttercream, or the white chocolate filling.

We did marble with Bailey's Irish Cream Mousse and that was wicked good (think Tiramisu), and then the bottom layer was chocolate with peanut butter cup Mousse, which I didn't try because I don't like chocolate cake. But people raved about it, so I guess it was good! :thumbsup2

We hard a hard time because DF and I like completely diffrerent things for our cake but what we ended up with is

Yellow cake with tropical mousse and raspberries (top layer)
Marble cake with white chocolate mousse and strawberries (bottom layer)

the top is basically my fav and his is the bottom.

We did the bottom layer with chocolate cake and white chocolate mousse. The middle layer was orange cake with orange mousse.

People RAVED about the orange/orange combo. The cocolate/white chocolate was very good, too. But we got lots of great comments about the orange/orange.

We had 3 tiers, all different flavors.

Top tier - chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and raspberry jam :lovestruc - we didnt' serve this tier, we ate in our room all week and had recreated for our 1st anniversary, and likely will for our 2nd anniversary too!!! We talk about it regularly :lmao:

Middle tier - almond cake with butter cream and raspbery jam

Bottom tier - chocolate cake with milk chocolate mouse filling

As you can tell, my family and DH are BIG on chocolate! :rotfl: But I will say everyone really liked the almond cake tier too!

I'll throw mine in to confuse you more (plus I HATE chocolate cake; White chocolate-I'm good, red velvet--I deal well!)! :rotfl:

Bottom:
Yellow cake with white chocolate mousse and fresh raspberries
(OH MY GOD- SOOOO Good!!)

Middle:
Red Velvet with cream cheese frosting
(Delish as well... we devoured it at -and after- our farewell brunch- see pic below!)

Top:
Yellow cake with raspberry mousse (we decided on this at the PS and have it in our freezer to take to WDW for our anniversary, but I think I'm gonna have them recreate our bottom layer too b/c it was so incredible)

Absolutely! Sorry asking for flavor rec's. caused more havoc then you imagined now though. :rotfl:

We are BIG cake fans and absolutely love almost any cake/filling combo!

We went for almond cake with Bavarian cream and fresh raspberries for the bottom layer. We had this from the Boardwalk bakery for Tim's birthday cake and it was fantastic.

Top layer is chocolate cake with white chocolate mousse.

These are the flavors that we chose:

BOTTOM: Almond cake with amaretto mousse

MIDDLE: Marble cake with dark chocolate mousse

TOP: Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting

YUM!!!

Well DF and I talked and he is going to pick the flavors for the top layer and I get to choose the bottom. Right now he is leaning towards Marble cake with buttercream filling and strawberries.

Me, not sure since my choice will be the biggest cake. :scared1: so much pressure. LOL
Right now my front runners are Chocolate cake with white chocolate mouse or peanut butter cup mouse.

I wasn't crazy about any of the cake flavors and asked for yellow cake with just almond-flavored buttercream. It was so great. I had it served with chocolate sauce to drizzle over and it was very light tasting..not too rich.

We're throwing around ideas as well. We go for our tasting next month. I like:

Bottom Layer- Chocolate with White Chocolate Mousse filing

Middle Layer- Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese filling

Our take home layer- Lemon Cake and butter cream frosting. We want Butter cream frosting for all 3 layers.

Here is what it's going to look like..perfect for a fall ceremony!

Soulmates - I love the look of that cake, if I were having a fall wedding I would want something like that. I love the orange and brown combinations that fall brings. Our wedding is in April and I am not a pastel kind of girl so I am going with Blues for my girls dresses and hot pink flowers.

My problem with the cakes choises is that they all sound good to me, and to DF none sound good since he is so picky. That is why his cake is very simple.

We are not huge chocolate cake fans but let me tell you, when we tried the Chocolate cake with raspberry mousse...OMG. DF and I both decided it was going to definitely be a layer.

Bottom layer: chocolate cake with raspberry mousse and fresh raspberries:lovestruc

middle layer: almond cake with ameretto mousse

top: marble cake with white chocolate mousse

Also, I'm not normally a fan of white chocolate but the white chocolate mousse was delicious. very light and not overwhelming at all! I enjoyed it thoroughly!

Blues & Hot Pinks sound great for a spring wedding!! Can't wait to see your pics!

I keep hearing about this Raspberry mousse....I may have to see if our cake lady can do that..hmmmm:idea:

To throw even more into the mix, you could also do a chocolate chip cake, because it's not plain yellow, but not pure chocolate either. Another compromise. But I'm sure Disney will do custom requests and if there is a cake you like, I'd ask them to make that.

Personally I'm a MUCH bigger cake person than DF so I'm choosing the flavors I love, and he gets ice cream, and the desserts at the DP. (He's an ice cream cake fan...blech! it's not CAKE!!!) But the more and more I influence him he likes my cake too, so I'm sure we'll pick a compromise...as long as it's buttercream, hehe.

I love your cake. I'm helping someone plan a wedding and want to share this with her since it will fit her location and colors. Is it fondant?
