My daughter wants a 'Fairy' birthday cake for her 8th birthday next month and I want to do something 'neat'. Any creative ideas out there?

You could do this and modify it to look fairyish and add wings.

Those barbie cakes are great! Last year my DD wanted Bell so yellow it was now this year she wants Jasmine so my mom is going to make the same cake just in purple. Now if I could just figure out how to make it an Ariel cake for my other DD I'd be all set.

I just remembered something else about that design, you can get mini barbies and a cake pan with that dress shape but smaller (I think it has 4 to a pan) and you could make little faries maybe 1 per guest depending how many people you have to feed.

there were instructions with the Wilton Doll pan Ibought that showed how to make a mermaid. You make it look like she is sitting on a rock (most of the cake would be rock) and you make her tail going down the side of the rock. I searched the wilton site and it gave a link to a pic but the pic didn't sho up.
