Cake Bake Shop at the BoardWalk is now open

Does the bakery have indoor seating ?

If I’m paying $22 for a slice of cake I want to enjoy the interior, can I make an ADR for the restaurant or is that frown upon? I don’t want a meal, just cake and drink maybe.

You can order whatever you'd like.

I saw in a recent trip report that to guarantee the center "gazebo" table you have to commit to $1,700 in the form of a deposit - that can be put toward food, beverage, merchandise. Seems like it could seat up to ~14. You can also apparently make a standby request - no deposit - but no guarantees on where you're seated.

Maybe if they throw in a cookie decorating kit.

The website says it seats 8. No mention of a $1700 minimum.

Guests who want to reserve a private room or that special table should contact CBS to discuss terms.

The gazebo is not big enough for 14 people. They probably had a private event and paid $1700 for the deposit. I see private parties there all the time.

We were there for brunch a couple of weeks ago. We asked our waiter this question. He says people do it and said it was fine in his opinion.

I was just looking at their menu and was very surprised to see very few things there. Wasn't the menu HUGE when they first opened? I was thinking about having a small dinner there on 11/14 if my flight isn't cancelled, but not much appeals to me.

The total menu selections haven't changed too much overall - but one big change is that the 'lunch' and 'dinner' menus used to be combined - now they've split them into separate menus, with the lunch menu listing most of the sandwiches and salads, many of which are no longer on the dinner menu. So for a dinner seating, lots of sandwiches have disappeared that are now only on the lunch side. I don't know if you could request something from the lunch menu at dinner - some restaurants will accommodate such requests and others not and it might be up to the server or chefs while you are there.

I was sorry to see the chicken salad sandwich removed from dinner menu. It was quite annoying to arrive for my 3:00 reservation and after I was kept waiting for almost 45 min (which seemed strange since restaurant was not crowded) I was told chicken salad sandwich was no longer available. I left.
