Cake Bake Shop at the BoardWalk is now open

I understand, I’m saying I don’t think those terms will do well at Disney because it’s so unpredictable. Those are likely necessary terms for their other locations, I’m curious how long they last at WDW.
They are probably more necessary for Disney. Your Princess has melt downs. Don't book. Consider not going to a park the morning of your tea. Waiting for a ride to come back up doesn't do anything for CBS.

I have no idea how many tea guests CBS is looking for. A few dozen? A hundred or more?

Cost, experience and terms won't attract the vast majority of guests.
It's a niche offering

Nothing wrong with a niche product.

I have noticed that although CBS is now showing up to book on MDE most dates/times are gone thru Christmas but Open Table is showing booking for dates up to Nov 23 and appears to be offering reservations for days that are no longer available via booking thru Disney. However it looks like the reservations via Open Table are advancing a week or a few days at a time so you might want to check for a different time for your reservation closer to your date if you do want to switch.

Believe it or not, I currently have 3 reservations for CBS and I’m not sure if I should laugh or cry.
The afternoon tea needs to be xld by CBS directly.
The MDE ADR for late evening on Christmas needs Disney IT to stop being themselves and finally I booked another this morning via open table…that one is for 8:30 PM on Christmas Day; not ideal but better than the 10 ish one.

This tea is an experience that requires advance planning and commitment, designed to protect both parties. If you can't do that, do something else. It's not like there aren't 10,000 other things to do at Disney.

Again, I agree with most everything you’ve said. I have no way of knowing, but I’d hazard a guess that the tea experience is likely one of their highest profit offerings (excluding takeaway). It’s certainly going to be a niche experience, likely more niche than they expect is all I’m saying.

Hmmm... charge backs? So maybe that's been a problem with their customers in Indiana?
I think afternoon tea has the potential to be one of CB's best offerings. It's too bad they are overcomplicating it. The Garden View Tea room at the Grand managed to deliver a lovely experience without annoyances.
Same here. I want to see more reviews before taking the plunge. The GF tea was wonderful. They kept the tea hot and the pot was in a sleeve. The sandwiches were fresh and the pastries were delicate and unique (the swan was intact) and the strawberry triffle.. needs to be on the buffet.

I ended up purchasing the rose garden Twinings tea from Epcot but it never steeped quite the same way (tea bag’s vs loose leaf).

Could you check how they do it in Indianapolis? It's likely very similar if not the same here.

The contract helps protect CBS against credit card charge backs.
I would agree with this. Our company got to the point that we had a separate document the customer had to sign that specifically stated the terms of our cancellation and refund policy and that the customer understood these terms and agreed to abide by them. Once we started having customers sign this we never lost a chargeback related to our cancellation and refund policy (although a lot of people tried).

🤷🏽‍♀️ I know it was working earlier in the week. Then is wasn’t at all. Then it was date limited and then…
Are you still seeing dates into December? I looked early this morning & after I read your post… only seeing 1 week out both times.

I see the same thing in Open Table. Just today thru next Friday for parties above 2. For parties of 2 only next Thursday the 21st is available and only at 8:30 PM.

I wonder if the exclusive gazebo dining round table design in very center of restaurant is for the Tea Ceremony when needed .
Does anybody remember when the GF scheduled the Tea event. Was it afternoons only ?

I've only done the Cake Bake tea in Indy once because they only scheduled for certain weekdays. I don't remember a contract at the time (this was in July) but I did have to call and speak to a specific person to set up the reservation. The pastries are mostly bite sizes of what you can buy from the bakery so it's a good way to try several different things at once. The sandwiches were good, scones were blueberry at the time so I passed mine to my spouse. Pretty sure I remember them using tea cozies. Not sure how the Orlando tea will compare.
As someone who always tried to hit Garden View on my WDW trips, I would give the edge to the GF tea, definitely the bigger bang for the buck and I loved the strawberries & cream option. But that doesn't appear to be coming back any time soon.

I read a post this morning that said CBS was back on OpenTable and by 8:53 AM had booked for Christmas evening. Can’t figure out the rhyme or reason of all the booking possibilities that come and go. Oh and I’m not putting much thought into it the actions anymore; my brain is fatigueddd 😄

ETA: Sorry, haven’t been back to Open Table since morning booking.

According to the manager I’ve been emailing regarding my tea contract, their afternoon tea is traditionally held in their patio space. I requested to have our tea in the main dining room with the carousel. She said she’d check on it but I haven’t heard back.

I haven’t seen anything on Open Book past November….
