Not at all, but I was there before Epcot closed.Did you have to wait long in line?

Did you check MDE? I was able to make a reservation for my trip when they loaded them yesterday, and my trip is in the same timeframe as yours.
Went to bed, woke up and yep it’s a new day in the neighborhood.Yes if you use MDE or the My Plans section of the Disney web interface you can book up to January 13th on a rolling 60 day schedule. If you link an on-site reservation it will be 60 day +10.
more work than necessary,
Something is very wrong.Got to say this was more work than any dining reservation I’ve ever made
The only time it will show me for Dec 11 is 10:15 PM. Perhaps I will just try a walk-up to the bakery in the afternoon instead.Well Thanksgiving week is coming up quickly and CBS is the new hot ticket (not sure it is deserved just yet) and we don't know how many ADR seating times are actually loaded into the system. December is booking fast.

Yesterday, I called CBS’ Event Mgr in the morning, left a msg re: questions about the “contract” and never rcvd a callback. My perception? Great product, poor backup delivery.
Having decided that the tea experience was more work than necessary, I attempted to book a regular ADR without success until this morning. Got a reservation for late Christmas evening (10:30 ish) and it should be fine for us to eat dessert then walk home as we are staying nearby. Only task will be to ensure the youngest guest naps earlier in the day.
Got to say this was more work than any dining reservation I’ve ever made and I sincerely hope the experience surpasses it.
Thanks for the continual flow of information, fellow posters!![]()
This is weird but CBS just keeps on giving.I just looked at Open Table…. CBS is back on it. Available 1 week out, still almost nothing for a party of 2, but lots of times for a party of 4.
I'm not sure how it's misleading. As far as I know, they don't require a deposit or a signed contract, which is what I said. A cancellation fee is different.I just checked. The current price Eloise tea is.,$110 per child under 12. The cost for adult after noon tea without wine and without caviar,.is.$155.
Edited to add cancelations of afternoon tea reservations within 72 hours are subject to a $75 cancelation fee.
Your description of tea at the Plaza is incomplete and is misleading
I realize the presentation is different, but for the price differential and the firm commitment required via a contract, it doesn't seem worth it. I feel like CBS is making afternoon tea a lot more complicated than it needs to be for a restaurant outside a theme park. The presentation for Afternoon Tea is different, but I assume you already knew the answer since you've been to Eloise tea. Agreed the contract is unusual. Maybe they'll drop it in the near future.
They just want to protect themselves from the Disney client who cancels at the last minute then cries fraud at the prospect of being charged a cancelation fee.I feel like CBS is making afternoon tea a lot more complicated than it needs to be for a restaurant outside a theme park.
The contract helps protect CBS against credit card charge backs. The cancelation and payment term are different then most other Disney restaurants. No same day reservatons. Staffing and food is based on the number of reservations.I realize the presentation is different, but for the price differential and the firm commitment required via a contract, it doesn't seem worth it. Hmmm... charge backs? So maybe that's been a problem with their customers in Indiana? The contract helps protect CBS against credit card charge backs. This is not an event which appeals to the majority of guests. It is niche offering.
I haven't read anything which suggests charge back issues in Indiana? Have you?Hmmm... charge backs? So maybe that's been a problem with their customers in Indiana?
I think afternoon tea has the potential to be one of CB's best offerings. It's too bad they are overcomplicating it. The Garden View Tea room at the Grand managed to deliver a lovely experience without annoyances.

I agree most guests aren't going to find the experience worth it. Guests need to make that decision prior to booking, not a few.hours before tea time.
Just musing. They have extensive self protection paperwork ready to go for some reason.I haven't read anything which suggests charge back issues in Indiana? Have you?

Hence the need to spell out the exact terms. All of that makes sense. I’m not sure how well that will mesh with the unpredictability of Disney World. Even prepaid ADR’s like CRT refunds up to 2 hours before reservation time, because…Disney happens.
Hence the need to spell out the exact terms.
Tea can't be overbooked. Standby reservations or walk ups aren't an option.
I have noticed that although CBS is now showing up to book on MDE most dates/times are gone thru Christmas but Open Table is showing booking for dates up to Nov 23 and appears to be offering reservations for days that are no longer available via booking thru Disney. However it looks like the reservations via Open Table are advancing a week or a few days at a time so you might want to check for a different time for your reservation closer to your date if you do want to switch.Went to bed, woke up and yep it’s a new day in the neighborhood.
