So a person can't be admired for one part of their life if they've done something bad in the past? That would ruin a TON of admired historical figures reputations.

Not that I'm saying she should be admired. Just not sure why being a ****** parent is important to the topic of her name or transition...

Um...Jenner IS a fame bore AND a bad parent...current tense, not past. I wouldn't rave about a book, based on it's cover. The contents matter.

I think the confusion comes from people talking about Bruce's mistakes and that being taken as being against him becoming Caitlyn.
We've had a few negative comment about Bruce becoming a woman on this thread but a majority of the negativity has been directed at Bruce as a person and the decisions he made in regards to family and media. Somehow that's translated into us be old, close minded, LGBT community haters.

I'm not sure anyone has said that she can't inspire other trans youth to accept themselves. We are just discussing the person we think Bruce was, and Caitlyn is. I hope she is able to inspire others, especially young kids who don't think they have the courage to be themselves. That doesn't mean I have to respect her choice to exploit her life for profit though.

I love this post. I guess I'm not the only 'pedantic' one out there. Thousands of people out there using the right pronouns, being respectful and refraining from discussion about genitalia...at the end of the day, Caitlyn is obviously happier than any of the other posters getting all worked up over anything said here.
