Cadbury Chocolate

To me Cadbury chocolate in the US is not that good. I have never had it from another country but have heard the Canadian version taste better than the US version.

it's an opinion I share as a Yank. I first had 'real' Cadbury in Australia. since then I cannot stomach the stuff they sell here.

I will also commit questionable acts to get a Violet Crumble. (Luckily I can get Jammie Dodgers locally)

There is also a notable difference between Cadbury's chocolate from the UK and Australia and New Zealand. Being a Kiwi I prefer the New Zealand chocolate but have a friend from England who worked in Aussie for awhile and use to get Dairy Milk sent over from England.

That said I won't say no to British Cadbury's and I would sell a child for a Tim Tam right now.

if you are in to 'odd' choices, hit up Japan, too. their hard candy is pretty good, although since Pinky is no longer being made their mint section is a big bummer. Frisk just doesn't have the same bite.

don't knock the seaweed crackers. they aren't as bad as they sound heheheh

Every time I go I have to get Pocky from Japan. My sons love it.

My kids love the Hi-Chews and the Galaxy bar from UK. Now, I'll just have to try a Cadbury. I do love the Easter Cadbury creme eggs...mmmmm.

I always get the KitKat in the teashop in Epcot. They taste much better than what I buy in the grocery store.

I am currently on vacation in Ireland. Are there any brands of chocolate I should try?

Pocky and Piccolo are pretty much mainstream now and actually just about as good as the real thing from the 100 Yen stores.

Flake bars are a MUST for us. When we visited the UK years ago, we came home with cases of them and kept them in the freezer. They usually give them out with a soft serve cone over there - perfect!

My local big-box grocery (Meijer) has Cadbury Fingers in the "international" section. They are the real deal from the UK! They also have Heinz Beans.

We also have a local soda/candy shop that has Galaxy, Bounty, Tim Tam, etc.

Curly Wurly's, Tim Tams, Butons, Flakes.....I have no idea what all those are! :)
I guess ill just have to pick a few while I'm there to try!

Tim Tams are an Australian biscuit, best bitten the end off and then sucking your coffee or hot chocolate up through the middle.

These however are the best in the world

love me some Curly Wurly but never got into Flake.

Tim Tams are ambrosia. truly. also, Mint slices.

I just had a thought.. can we use snack credits?! that would be sublime....

I am a Brit living in the US and I def think the british Cadburies is wayyy better..maybe just what Im used to I dont know..I think the Hershey/Canadian version you get in the states is a bit harsher..the Uk one is more like Belgian milk chocolate..much smoother and nicer! Just my opinion :)

It's funny you say that, because I'm an American living in Canada, and I feel like there is a huge difference between the US and Canadian chocolate! The Canadian is so much better! I was thinking it was the same I'd had before on visits to the UK, but maybe not? Maybe there is some sort of tiering, where the Brits get the best, the Canucks get the middle and the Yanks get the crap at the bottom!

I have really noticed how food tastes more "real" here, if that makes sense. Just less additives and fillers in everything. And don't even get me started on Mars Bars vs. Milky Way. They should taste just the same, but for some reason the Mars Bar is infinitely superior!

I am very much looking forward to trying some different chocolates now! I've noticed over the last few years that it is harder and harder to find good candy. Can't wait to pick some out while in Epcot. Teas too! Mmmmm.......

I've lived on a military base in canada for the last 10 yrs and every time British soldiers posted to the US would come up for training they would buy us out of Cadbury chocolate. I do have my favs when I go to the US ( cherry Pepsi , nutter butters & mentadent lol) but choc doesn't make it.

I might have missed this, but where do you purchase the Tim Tams? I have been wanting to try them for years!!!

The US version is just bleugh! Give me UK cadburys any day.

So yes, there's a huge difference. You pay 4x the price for it in the US though which is a shame. The only problem with trying the real thing is you'll get hooked and nothing else tastes remotely similar - it's very bad for your wallet! Lol
