cable company turned clocks back today?

wouldn't you think they would doublecheck the date?..I wake up this morning..first clock that hits my eyes is the cable box in the bedroom..it says 7:15...I stumble into the living room and the clock in there says 8:15..of course I am half asleep and confused..I walk into the kitchen..that clock says 8:15...check the other cable box..says 7:15...then it dawns on me..I call the cable company and say "I have what may be a stupid question'..she says 'not if it's the same question about 1000 other callers had'..lol..she says 'I don't know why they did it..they changed the clocks this weekend instead of next..they are trying to fix it now'..well it's now almost 11:00 and the cable boxes still say 10:00!..lol!

reminder ..NEXT weekend is the end of daylight savings time..change your clocks and all your smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector batteries!

It always amazes me why people have such a hard time remembering when the clock changes are. People are always asking, when it is. Its the first weekend in April and last in October...very easy to remember.

Oh I so feel for the cable company operators today!! Years ago I worked for an answering service. One of our clients was the cable company. On the computer screen you could see your next 4 phone calls. When every one of them, on each monitor was for the cable company you knew it would be a long night. It got to where we'd answer the line "XYZ Cable, we are currently experiencing an outage do you live in (area)?" I'll wait about an hour now before calling just because I know from experience that EVERYONE in the area is calling right then. There were even customers who wanted to be credited for that 1/2 hour their cable was out!!!

As for the clock thing, an innocent mistake I'm sure but a pretty silly one. I thought everyone knew it's the last sunday in october?

I can never keep straight which one is the first weekend and which is the last weekend. Maybe the cable company didn't realize Halloween was on a Sunday and thought that this morning was the last Sunday? Glad you got is sorted out, though.
