We're staying at the cabins for the first time in February. Are there certain cabins/locations that are better? If so, are you able to request them?

Thanks!

Loop 2500 was a good loop, the bus stop was just outside. The issue with cabin 2529 that we had is that the bus stop was RIGHT behind our bedroom window. We were woken up every morning early by the sound of the bus lift dropping, beeping and rising :headache: I suggest if you want one close to the bus stop to not get a cabin with the bus stop right behind the cabin. Get it on the other side of the loop.

The cabins themselves are all virtually identical. Best location depends on what you're looking for - quiet and more secluded or closer to the action, near the bus stop, etc..

You can put in a request, but it's only a request. They will not guarantee you get the cabin/site you ask for.

Best way to put in a request is to fax directly to the Fort about 4-5 days before you arrive (no earlier). If you search, the fax form is floating around on a recent thread here somewhere.

We've stayed in 2100, 2300, and 2500. I liked 2100 the best. You could easily cut through to the Meadows area for the trading post and campfire, or hop a bus to the marina or outpost. And since that bus stop is served by both the purple and orange lines, you get a bus very fast. That helps when you're coming "home" late too.
But if you spend more time at EP, DHS, or AK, a loop closer to the entrance might work better for you.

Thank you for the suggestions! My sister and I are bringing our parents, husbands and kids for their first trip to disney. Not sure who's more excited - the kids or my mom! Anyway, we've rented 3 cabins so I was just curious as to any good locations! So looking forward to our trip! Thank you!

Welcome to the camping boards ! :wizard:

Will you mind tell'n us the meaning of your name ? :confused3

Hook-em as in Hook-em-horns (Texas Longhorn grad here) and hook-em as in loves to fish!

Welcome to the DisBoard. I know you will enjoy your trip, and wish we were going to be there at that time. My wife is an Alabama Grad, so y'all would have much to discuss...or cuss. :rotfl: (I'm Auburn, myself. :thumbsup2) It was a shame about Colt getting injured, but I haven't heard anything lately about his condition.

About your cabins...Did you let reservations know you need a group setting? They grant what preferences they can. You might also want to consider one or more golf carts for your stay. A great way to look around the Fort, but not absolutely necessary since the internal busses do a good job. You will find off-site CG's are cheaper, and there are references to where to find them elsewhere in the Camping forum. Bring quarters. The ice machines and laundry eat them like candy.

If this is your first trip to the Fort, consider some down time to explore and soak up some of the FW activities other than just going to the parks.

Enjoy!!! :dance3::dance3:

we've rented 3 cabins so I was just curious as to any good locations!

I would make sure to have it noted on your reservations that the 3 cabins are together (if you haven't already) and if they're 3 separate reservations, I would recommend you each fax your request a few days ahead and note the other 2 ressie #s on the request and that you'd like to be close together.

They'll do their best to accommodate you.

Ah yes - Alabama fans - too bad we're not there at the same time ;)!!! My dad's family is all in Missippi/Alabama so I've heard quite a bit about the game!! But it's all good!

We do our reservations all together and requested the 3 cabins be together so hopefully they will be. We do have at least one day to just stay at FW. That's one reason we went with cabins - with 4 boys (and one pricess) we thought they might need space to run around and be boys!

Thanks for all the advice! So looking forward to our trip!

We do love the cabins. Been there 3 times & will go again in September. I requested the 2100 loop last year, 6 months or more in advance, did'nt get it. I may need to try the fax thing a pp mentioned. Have a great time.

2100---always good because it is the closest cabin loop to everything

2200--another good loop because it's really just as close as the 2100 loop

2300--driving is annoying, I wouldn't recommend it.

2500--only loop I've actually never stayed in, it's close to the pool though

2400--- somewhat close to the pool, but not a loop I would suggest

2600---close to the pool

2700--somewhat close to the pool, far from everything else

2800--not as bad as you would think, it looks like the farthest away from everything but it's closer then the 2500-2700 loops
