Can anyone tell me how long of a walk it is from the cabin area of Fort Wilderness to the Marina. Have heard the internal shuttle is iffy at best.
We have another couple wanting to go with us and unless I come up with an additional $3000.00 the Lodge is out.

It's a pretty long walk...I didn't find the bus that bad. Just get on the one heading that way. Much quicker than walking.

The fort is BIG. The walk from our cabin to the marina would have been way too long. But the fort busses weren't at all iffy-- they were a nice scenic trip through the fort, and quick enough. Much faster than walking as was said. Even though we had a car I found I enjoyed taking the internal transportation, especially the boat. The marina area is lovely and the boat ride is really scenic and fun.

We walked it once a few years back after MNSSHP it took us about 20 minutes or so and it was really dark.

We never had a problem with the internal busses. I am glad I didn't spend he money on the golf cart. After the first day, you realize that the busses on one side of the street go to the settlement, the other side of the street goes to the outpost.
And the bus drivers are SUPER nice! If they see you coming, they will wait.
