So glad I came across this thread as I am making a similar decision for my family. I actually have reservations at both resorts and will make a decision closer to our arrival date as a few other outside factors could impact my decision. But you all have given me alot of pros and cons to consider. Just thinking out loud now...
Pros for ASMu
A food court is big to my family, we are always disappointed by this when we stay deluxe and with
free dining it will be even bigger
We would insist on a golf cart at The Cabins which pushes the price difference higher coupled with this is the inconvenience of transportation at The Fort and our lack of car
Pros for Fort Wilderness
The Fort is a new resort to us
I'm excited by all the extracurriculars at The Fort
Non-factors
1 versus 2 bathrooms hasn't been a big factor in the past
bed set ups really don't make a difference to the kids, in the suite we would have a bedroom to ourself which would be a pleasant difference
The kitchen at The Cabin would be nice but we would really only use it for breakfast and maybe a frozen pizza late night snack
Cabin - 504 sf Suite - 520 sf
