Hi All... Well I'm ironing and packing tonight and since we've never cruised we have one of the million dollar questions to ask.

How many drawers and how much closet space is there in a cabin. We have a regular cabin. We are a family of 4. I realize all us girls (3 in all) have 7 dresses each and then shorts, tops swimsuits. etc. etc. etc.

Oh Yeah DH has suits and dress clothes also LOL along with shorts and dockers.

Also have a suitcase full of shoes and toiletries.

Will there be room for us?

Thanks,
Joanna

We found there to be a surprisingly large amount of storage space. The closet is large, and there are plenty of drawers, and steamer trunk (shelves) to store 'stuff'. Your suitcases should be able to fit under your bed. Have a great time!

7 dresses each sounds like alot. I am sure once you cruise you will find that next time you can cut down on the amount of clothes you bring and actually wear. Your hubby really only needs one suite with different shirts/ties. Make it easier on yourself and don't fret. You will find ample room in the cabin for all the stuff.

After 5 DCL cruises and several on other lines I pack so much less than I did in the beginning of my cruising days. I try to pick a color theme, say for me navy or black. I try to mix and match day and evening clothes to cut down on bringing too much. It really works out very well. During the day you will find you are hanging out in your bathing suits most of the time.

I always pack some extra wire hangers or you can ask your room steward for extras.

Have a great cruise.

7 dresses each? Yikes! Suits (plural???) double yikes!

I think we told our kids 2 dresses (or dress like things) max, then a couple of shorts/tops to mix/match along with swim-suits. I had my tux for formal night and then an additional pair of dress pants and a few additional nice shirts.... and we still overpacked....

For all those toiletries....you're gonna love this: a shoe organizer that hangs on the door, you know, the ones with the clear plastic pouches for the shoes! Counter space in the bathroom is very limited. And this was a lifesaver for us. Dh's things were in the top row, mine the second, DD in the third, and Ds in the fourth. Medicines, aloe, sunscreen next, and the two large pockets on the bottom were perfect for hairdryer. I bought mine at walmart for about $5 and I'll never travel without it again!

Kris,...The over door shoe organizer is already packed LOL

Heard so much about it had to pack it, does the door close after the hooks are over the top?

I agree with all of the above posts, especially bringing half the clothes and twice the money! One thing that we found was that there was not enough hangers. It sounds like you should bring a bunch of extra hangers. We did need to use all the space provided for our stuff and at times the room did seem a little crowded but overall the four of us did great in the cabin! Good Luck and have fun!:)
