We will be taking the 4 night cruise next spring, and have booked the family cabin since there are 5 of us. My parents may also be going on the cruise, and I told them I would look into the costs and the different types of staterooms for them. Can some of you please give me the plusses and minuse of a deluxe w/ verandah vs. one with the navigator's verandah? Also, there are two categories for the deluxe ocean view staterooms, the difference being I believe deck level, is that very important? This will be our first cruise, so it is a learning process for me. Any comments would be appreciated.

The staterooms are basically the same size from a cat10 down to a cat 5. Of course, the balcony does give additional room but it isn't considered living space( for me it is since I would be perfectly content to stay out there with a nice cold drink and a magazine!) The cat 4 which is sleeps 5 has about 5 aq ft more living space than the 5-10 have. We had a Navigators veranda last May and LOVED it. Instead of going out onto a railing deck you go onto a deck that has a 4 or 5 ft porthole. It is themed really cute- nautical with a wooden chair/table and a padded seat. It has a compass and maps and a cute little flag theme! Really nice. The normal verandas- have a railing and 2 steel or aluminum chairs and a table. You can't really sun out there or anything but they are really nice also. As for the decks- we have only stayed on deck 5 but when we go in July-we will be on deck 2. I have read good things about the lower decks- just avoid being right under the night clubs!
We barely stay in our room on a 7 day- a 4 nighter will be even more jampacked with activities. We will see. Regardless of where you are or which category- you are still on a Disney cruise!! Enjoy

There are some differences within the categories, and also some "secret" bargains (such as 6 Cat. 10 rooms that are classed as inside but that have portholes, plus some Cat. 7 staterooms that have regular rather than nav. verandahs).
