Help.....sigh.....I called my TA yesterday to give her my work address to send my docs to and while on the phone, she looked in the computer and was able to tell me my room number. I paid for a cat 10 GTY and got just that. While that isnt so bad anyway because that is what I booked, my room number is 1051. Anyone been there before???? lol. I looked on the deck plan and saw that there arent but about 20-30 rooms down there and all on one side. This room was NOT on the "avoid this room" list but still, it looks like I will be away from the rest of the ship. Also, in the deck plan diagram....it appears that this is an adjoining room. I realize there must be a lock on the door that would keep both the other room and myself from going to the others but doesnt this make for more noise????? Oh lord....I am all depressed now lol. Anyone who has had this room, would you please tell me something good about the location and deck #??? Please???? lol.

Thanks....Tracy

Sorry that I can't help you with you dilemma, but I was wondering if you could tell me where I can find the "aviod this room" list?
Thanks, and I hope that it all works out for you. Don't be depressed, just think positive and things will be great! :earboy2:

Here's the bright side...
You got what you paid for and isn't it better to be on a cruise than at home??

go to DCLtribute.com and there is a list of noisy rooms there.

You will be fine and will have a great cruise. Sorry its not a better location, but you will be in the warm sun and away from the NJ winters. Have fun!!!

TooPure4U: Look on the bright side -- at least you won't have a lot of hall traffic and you'll be very close to the atrium area. Plus, like another has said == being onboard is better than being at home. I think you may find yourself pleasantly surprised.

Happy Sailing! :boat:

You'll be first off the boat at cc.

One deck up and you'd be under the bars. I'm told this isn't a problem, but I think I'd rather be where you are than right under a nightclub. At the same time, you are just two flights away from you bed after a late drink or show. You are on the "adult" end of the ship and on the bottom floor - you won't be subject to elevator games.

What you guys will end up doing is going to deck 3 or 4 and walking the length of the beautiful ship to get to the dining rooms. This will become a treat - the ship is lovely. Or you will take the elevators up to deck 9 and get off and walk the deck back to the pools - also a lovely walk.

Really, once you get into your room, it doesn't matter how far away you are from the rest of the ship (and there are some nice things about being away from the rest of the ship).

we had this room on our last cruise with the adjoining room. we loved it. it was quite and convient location. we had our 4 girls in the other room and we could not hear them so noise is not a problem. it was nice and close to midship elevators and stairs.

We have stayed on Deck 1 3 different times.....it really is a nice location. You are not "far away" from the rest of the ship at all. You are actually very close to most of the action. You are just steps away from restaurants, shopping, shows, guest service, shore excursion desk, character interactions, photos, atrium, clubs, etc.

The only thing you need to take the elevator to is the pool area on Deck 9 things on Deck 10. Everything else is within four decks of you (decks 6, 7, 8 are just passengers decks).

We've had cabin #1047 before (just two cabins down) and liked the location very much. Deck one is definitely the quietest deck on the whole ship, and is very convenient at the ports-of-call. The joining room doors are both metal, so sound from the other room should not be a problem. And, the elevator is always empty so you never have to wait for the next one.

Awww thanks everyone for making me feel soooo much better. I guess you are right.....being on the ship definitely DOES beat being in NJ anytime.

Ummm, yeah! Especially in January! Got any room in your luggage for a stowaway?

Hi sweet angel...I am in Ocean County as well....Beachwood, by Toms River..... :) The more I think about it, the more I guess I cant complain....heck, I would sleep in the lifeboats if it meant away from the Jersey winter lol.

I'm right down the road from you in Lacey. Actually, I think we've "talked" about this already! Bring back some sunshine and warm weather when you come home, okay?

so you DID get an upgrade on top of all the positive comments about this room! good for you! now you need to change your title to happy faces.

No...it wasnt an upgrade...I am in 1051, not 1052...but thats ok.....I will still be on the Magic....thanks everyone :)

We have stayed in Cat. 8's at the front of Deck 7, and there is little traffic so it is very quiet, and deck 1 should be the same as a result of the no-through-traffic layout. The Cat. 10's have the same interior space and split baths that are the same as every category up through Cat. 5, so that is the size of suite on most other cruise lines. And you are on the Magic, so that will be for a WEEK...easy walk up stairs to decks 3 & 4, you will enjoy and have a great cruise!

Mike's right. You should have 2 small port hole windows now!! Yeah! You got an upgrade!! See....all that sadness for nothing. :p
