Cabin and General Ft Wilderness Questions

Hi all, I thought you guys would b more helpful than the regular resorts thread:

I'm going to request the 2100 Loop for our cabin. We will have a rental car but there are 6 of us in the cabin!

How far/long of a walk is it from the cabins to the marina to catch the boat?

How far/long of a walk it is to the main pool area?

Are the only places to refill your refillable mug at the main pool and Pioneer Hall?

Can you rent bikes for the length of your stay?

Can you drive to the Marina and park there all day?

How often do the internal buses come around?

What are the hours Trail's End is open?

I'll tackle a few of your questions...

Are the only places to refill your refillable mug at the main pool and Pioneer Hall?

Actually it's the Meadows Pool snack bar and Trails End - right next door to Pioneer Hall. Go in the main entrance and look to the left and you'll see the soda fountain.

Can you drive to the Marina and park there all day?

No. The only parking for cars within FW (besides the lot out front by the Outpost) is at your site/cabin and a few spots at the Meadows Trading Post - but that is restricted to 15 minute parking only.

You'll need to take a bus or walk to the Settlement/Marina area - unless you have a golf cart, in which case there are places to park those.

How often do the internal buses come around?

Pretty regularly - like every 10-15 minutes or so.

What are the hours Trail's End is open?

Most recent hours I've seen posted are:
Breakfast 7:30 - 11:30am
Lunch 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Dinner Sunday - Thursday: 4:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Friday - Saturday: 4:30 - 10 p.m.

Takeout is also available after 5pm (limited menu)

I'll take a couple that Brady skipped:

How far/long of a walk is it from the cabins to the marina to catch the boat?

From the front of 2100 to the dock, it's just a little under a mile.

How far/long of a walk it is to the main pool area?

Not quite a half mile.


You'll have a great time. If you don't have a golf cart, you may want to request a cabin close to the front of the loop. Regardless, 2100 is the best cabin loop for being closer to the main pool and boat dock.

Cabin and General Ft Wilderness Questions

I know about the cabins....but for the life of me, I never heard of a General Ft Wilderness!! Captain Crunch, yes! General Ft Wilderness? Nope!
