Cabin and Campsite close together?

Though we have been to Disney many times before, I have never before stepped foot on FW. Hoping someone can help a FW novice out.

We are planning a trip in December. It started out as a business trip for DH as he has a conference in the GF, but then kids and I jumped on board, now both sets of grandparents looking to add in too so they can celebrate an early Christmas with us.

My parents would be in their class A motorhome; and me, DH, DS and DD, and DMIL and DFIL would be in a cabin. Is there any hope of premium campsites next to or near cabins?

From the maps I have seen, it looks like a cabin loop (2100) is back-to-back with a premium loop (1100). We are wondering if we should attempt to request 2 sites each on the back sides of those loops, where we could be back to back and could cut through the woods to each others site. What kind of terrain is between the loops? Can you walk through the woods between loops? Or are there drainage canals or other hazards that would prevent this?

Thanks for your help!

This question has been asked before.

As far as terrain between the 2100 loop cabins and the 1100 loop campsites, here's a pretty good visual for you:

And, here's a list of the campsite and cabin pairs:

The only cabin loop that backs up to a camping loop is the 2100 loop. It backs up to the 1100 loop. Here is a thread with some photos:

Cabins close to campsites

The specific sites on 1100 that back up to cabins are: 1111, 1113, 1115, 1116, 1117, 1119 and 1120. The cabins that back up to these sites, more or less, are 2124, 2126, 2128, 2130, 2132, 2134 and 2135. I gave those to you in order, so the matching pairs are 1111 and 2124, etc. 1120 and 2135 sit right next to a paved sidewalk that leads to a comfort station that sits between the two loops. But, as you can see from the photos on thread that I posted the link for, you can easily walk between the cabins and the sites. In order to request a site in the 1100 loop, you would have to reserve a premium site. In case you haven't read it somewhere on here before, all you can do is request to be placed close together. They cannot and will not promise that you will be close together or assigned to particular cabins or campsites. Good luck, and have fun!

The one thing I will add is that the area between the cabins and campsites is swampy, and often has standing water after prolonged rains, so you might want to ask for the sites and cabins closest to the comfort station.

Have fun!

And, welcome to the camping board!

Thanks so much, TCD! Looks perfect! :goodvibes

I have been doing searches for the past couple of days and couldn't find the right string of search words to pull up what I was looking for. So many threads contain the words "cabin" "campsite "together", kwim? The next thing I know- 2 hours have passed, I am deep in trip report heaven, and I still don't have an answer to the original question I was looking for. ;)

Thanks for your help! Can't wait! Off to lurk some more...

Since they cleared a lot of the undergrowth it is very easy to walk between 2100 and 1100. I have seen several people set up back to back and it seemed to work well for them. Someone on the board just did this and posted a trip report. Maybe they will chime in on this and give you first hand info. But I know if I can ever get any of my non-camping family down here we will request back to back on 1100 and 2100.
