Our 1/2/05 res is for cabin 8518. It is near the forward elevators. My DH, and children have not cruised before. How much movement might we expect to feel in this cabin?

Well we were in 8504/8506 and I can tell you the movement was VERY noticeable in our cabins! We ended up getting really queasy and feeling really awful on the first night and it didn't really change! This is the first cruise we've ever suffered like this before so if I were you I'd make sure you were prepared with sea sickness meds!

Wow... open 2 threads and the hydster has posted to both. Hydster loose on the boards again :bounce:

Sorry, Heidi and I go back a long way, so now that that's out of the way.

It's hard to tell how much movement to expect since it is really up to the weather around your sailing date, but the movement is more noticable the higher you are on the ship and further fore and aft. The movement is least noticeable mid ship and low. When we (my fam as well as Heidi) were on the May 1st Magic, it seemed the seas were quit rough and the ship did move quite a bit. Even my DW had a few bouts of queasy ness and she has never had problems on any of our previous cruises.

If you are really concerned about sea sickness, see if you can move more midship, and stay medicated. A friend traveling with us was suppose to be very prone to motion sickness. He took is meds everyday and never had a bit of trouble. Remember, it is easier to prevent motion sickness then to get rid of it, so don't wait unitl you start feeling sick to take meds.

This was our cabin on our first cruise. We were not affected by motion or noise, and liked the location. I am sure you will love it. For pictures, take a peek at our website (the link is in my signature below). There are lots of photos of that particular stateroom! Enjoy!

Do any of you know anything about room number 8526. IT is our first cruise and we have no clue what to expect.:) Also madoug, are you going the same time that we are?

Hi All
I have to hop on the bandwagon of this thread and see if anyone knows the "sickness rate" of 7007. Dh is really concerned -
any words of wisdon I can provide him - or maybe just better to sedate him and wake him at the end of the cruise LOL
:p

Denise, your pictures and website are awesome!

We are a little concerned about seasickness too - we are deck 8 aft on our April cruise - we were midship last time. I do know there's quite a bit of rocking the first night going through the Gulf Stream on the way to Nassau (I really remember feeling it in the ESPN Club last time - DH had to watch Yankees vs. Red Sox).
