Cabin 6134

Hi again - As you might have read from my ealier post, I'm a new cruiser and have a stateroom ? I am assigned to #6134 on the Wonder in May 2005 and from what I understand it's one of those staterooms with the obstructed balcony but I paid for a Cat 7 and it's more like a Cat 6

Can anyone tell me more about these obstructed views and also if anyone has ever been in #6134???? Thanks.

We always try to book the same type of cabins on deck 7. They have a bit of an obstructed view, but not as obstructed as the true category 7 rooms. Here's a link to a picture of your room, and another link which shows pictures of what the real Navigator's verandah looks like (i.e. the one you're paying for).

Congratulations!
We had 7120 which is just above your room. For the transitional Cruise in August we have 6134.
From our experience with 7120 it is GREAT!
You have the plexiglass railing so you can look out from inside, as well as while sitting on the verandah. Something that isn't truly possible with a "true" Cat. 7.
As there are only 4 of them you were very fortunate to get that cabin

Wow I got lucky!!!! Just one more question if you don't mind Is it better to be on the starboard or Port side? I see I'm on the port side according to the pictures or doesn't it matter? I am such a newbie to this but it's so much fun learning and you all have been great on these boards so thank you!!

You'll be facing the dock and NOT the island at Castaway Cay. That would have been nice, but you get to watch all of the activity as they unload all of the supplies from the ship PLUS when you depart CC make sure you're out on your balcony as the CM's will be there on the dock with their Mickey gloves waving and yelling goodbye. Bit corny but I thought it was great as did most of the people yelling goodbyes, "We'll be back" and "Thanks". Also when you dock at Port Canaveral you'll be facing away from the dock. We saw LOTS of dolphins in the early morning jumping and rolling in the water.

Just wondering if all 4 of the "obstructed" staterooms are located on the port side? I have never sailed but it seems to be that the starboard is the place to be although I think I did well with the upgrade and I don't think for this being our first cruise and it's only 4 nights it will make too much difference.

2 on each side. They are "mirror" cabins on either side of the ship.
On our Transitional California to Florida I purposely chose the port side.

I have 7120 next may 2005!! It doesn't appear to have *that* much of an obstruction!! I can't wait!!

I stayed in 7120 on my last cruise. We loved it nothing better then getting a Cat 6 at a Cat 7 price.

Our cruise in Oct we will be staying in 6134 and I heard that the obstruction is even less then 7120.

Thanks for the help Grumbo, I'm convinced I got a great deal but I'm such an obsessive planner probably like alot of people on these boards On to the next phase of planning . . . . . . I have a year to drive all my friends and family crazy

I'm assuming that the cabins are the same on either of the two ships, right?

exactly *how* obstructed would you say they were? Do you have any pictures of the room/view from your trip??? I have seen the ones listed above(have them saved to view from time to time ) but would *love* to see more pictures!!!

Hi Goofygal1975, actually if you look up at Lloyd Dobler's post at the top of this thread, there is a link showing great pics from all 4 of the "obstructed" views and what the regular navigator's verandah looks like. I am so thrilled that we can actually sit out on a verandah that I don't care about the little obstruction or if it's on the port or starboard side

Hey dizprincess27, thanks! I do have that page marked as a favorite. I found it when trying to figure out what cabin i wanted. They don't really look that obstructed to me!! Yea!!! I was just hoping to see some more pictures of the room from someone who had been there...LOL I'm a little picture crazy...and a little Disney Cruise crazy at this point...haha

I feel the same way as you do...I dont care about the obstruction...I'm just so happy to be able to sit out on the verandah and relax whenever I want to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
