Cabin 10158 on Dream/Fantasy How is it?

I'd love to see photos, too. Booked 10158 for my Nov. 10, 2012 Western Caribbean.

I believe I saw a video of this cabin on youtube. Just search over there for Dream 10158 and I'm sure the video will turn up for you.

I am also booked in this room in 2013 and have quite a few questions. I tried to write to two people who posted stateroom reports but have yet to hear back. I'm sure with the holidays, people are quite busy and not browsing the DISboards nearly as much as I am at the moment. :)

I saw the video of 10658 and was concerned about the TV being on the same wall as the bed. I called the Disney Cruise line reservation number and spoke to someone who tried to find an answer for me. She was absolutely wonderful, but was unable to find an answer. Even if 10158 is set up the same as 10658 on The Dream, perhaps they changed it on The Fantasy if there were complaints?

I'll be interested to see photos of this room as well. Hopefully someone will post some information.

When are you on the cruise? We go in Oct of 2013

Hello All,

We just returned from the Christmas Cruise to the Bahamas on the Dream in Room 10158. We loved the room so much, when it wasn't available for the 2012 Christmas Cruise on the Fantasy, my husband decided to wait until 2013 to get "Our Room" and we may do a Disney Adventure Trip for 2012 instead.

The TV will swing out and rotate. It would be parallel to the bed, so the person on the side closest to the TV can comfortably watch on their side. The person on the farther side of the bed might have more difficulty, though.

Tons of storage. We loved the oversized verandah. We loved the location -- quick run up the stairs to Cabanas. I could run up and grab a big plate of breakfast while the family got ready in the morning and bring it down easily to enjoy on our "back porch."

Like I read in some of the stateroom reviews, when docking there was a definite vibration. We loved it, because we knew when we were docking and could jump out of bed (if it was early). Yes, occasionally we heard chairs scraping upstairs in Cabanas. When I say "we," I guess just me! The kids and hubby say they never heard it. And, the in-laws next door didn't hear it either. Maybe I was listening for it since I read about it in the reviews.

Feel free to email me with more questions at tanyayarbrough AT gmail DOT com.

It was our first cruise and it was fantastic. Looking forward to the Fantasy for Christmas 2013!

We didn't think to take any pictures of the stateroom... but the video on YouTube that someone posted of 10648 is exactly it (just flipped).

I have one picture of my daughter standing in front of the "bunks" when the bed was lowered at night, but this forum won't let me post it because I'm a "newbie."

I can email it to you...

Please do my email is ssatterly2000@yahoo.com

How many did you have in the room? We will have 3. Did the couch make a bed or did it come from the wall/ceiling?

From the youtube video, it looks like you could see the TV better if you put your head at the foot of the bed. Not an optimal solution, but it may work.

Happy cruising!

tyarbrough, If you had a choice between that room and the room next door (where your in-laws stayed), which would you choose. Did they stay in 10160? Currently we have 10158, but 10160 is still available so I'm trying to decide between the two. It seems 10160 has a very deep verandah and also has a couple of lounge chairs as well as standard chairs.

I'm glad that you weren't bothered by the noise at Cabannas, as I was thinking of moving elsewhere because of it. I've also seen many reviews that said it had tons of storage space. I was wondering if it had more than a typical room and that's why it has been mentioned so much? Last question, which is the same as ssatterly's question..... was there a bed that folds down from the ceiling, or was the couch the only extra bed?

Hi Karen89,

There was a bed that came out of the ceiling. I have one picture, but need to post a few more times before DisBoards thinks I'm qualified to include pics! :confused3

I would stick with 10158. The balcony was bigger and wrapped around the side of the ship so you had more of a view.

719 more days til our next cruise! That's crazy...I think we better book another one before then!

About the storage, I guess I don't know what to compare it to. We had 2 big double-door closets. The coffee table (on wheels that can move around) was a trunk with a lid. There were three drawers by the fridge. There were two shelf/cubbies above the dry-bar/fridge area.

I guess I was just floored at how much storage there was, but nothing to compare it to. I have a son & a daughter so we had a guys closet and girls closet. We put our dirty clothes bag in the coffee table. Socks & undies went in the 3 drawers by the fridge. (Guys had to share a drawer :thumbsup2 )

There were two hooks on the wall that came with the room where I hung mine and my daughter's "cover-ups" so we could run around drying hair, etc. There are two clothes lines that can be extended over the shower. I also brought clothes pins. With 2 chairs and 2 loungers on the deck, I attached wet swimsuits to the chairs to dry. It does get windy on the deck when the boat is moving, so I don't recommend leaving anything on the deck without pinning it to the chair. :laundy:

I also brought a 24-pocket, clear shoe organizer that I hung on a closet door. It was great for sticking in sunscreen, tickets for dinner/excursions, sticky notes/pens, glow-sticks, and other little things. We could see them easily and helped keep the flat surfaces of the dry-bar and desk clear.

I'd be curious if our room had "more storage" than other rooms, but I just know it had plenty!

I think I did it... posted enough to be allowed to include pictures. Hopefully this works.

We had 4 in the room and used the pull down bed and the couch bed.

It's not working since you posted a link to your FB page and you will have to change your privacy filters for people to see it when not logged into FB. The easiest way to post pics on here is to put them onto a photo sharing site, such as photobucket.com, and then post the links on here.
