Cabela's! The Annual Redneck-Disney "Trip Report"

YAY! Back by popular demand (not!), our yearly sojourn to Redneck-Disney!

Tah-Daaa! See? is it not the love child of the Wilderness Lodge and the Grand Californian?

Parked in E for Eeyore: (my apologies to those of you with "old eyes")

Check in:

It was dinner/supper time so we high-tailed it to the eatery to use up some table service credits The menu... Yes, as a matter of fact, that is elk, ostrich, and wild boar you see. (or don't see...old eyes)

and the ever-delicious Buffalo Burger...

..which looks like this: (sweeter/ wayyyy less fat than beef...DH ordered it)

My plain ol' turkey which I requested be in a whole wheat wrap with nary a whisper of mayo (HONEST Wish thread friends!)
Before: (ohhhh, I've always wanted to do a dining report. Food Porn! heh.)

After: (note, I only ate HALF and gave away a goodly amount of my fries...which were de-freakin'-licious with Utah's own secret recipe fry-sauce *mayo/ketchup*)

Riley's Pizza Planet kid's meal: (disclaimer: he was swooped up begrudgingly to go with us, hence the orphan-wear)

Being Cabela's The Redneck Disney, we HAD to get a pound (or two) of fudge for dessert in Goofy's Redneck Kitchen. (First weigh in isn't till this Friday after all. You KNOW who you are!)

You KNOW you want to try some Moose Drool or Porcupine Slobber or Cow Spit fudge!!!

or perhaps a little Afternoon Delight (sorry, Jesus, for that right there)

We also absconded some candied nuts (no pic, but fairly fabulous) and a car cooler that will plug in to the cig. lighter of the Suburban and will keep up to 8 diet Pepsi cans ice cold.

I absolutely love Cabela's but only know it through their catalog.

My DSis in Maine worked at their brand new store in Scarborough, ME last summer! Due to the move I was never able to get to ME to see the store...heard it is a beauty!

Oh, you never disappoint! I can't believe how grown up Norah is now--she's adorable as always but absolutely a little girl and not a toddler anymore.

Hey! We hit our first Cabela's this past weekend, the one in East Hartford, CT. No candy section--I'd have noticed. The kids liked the animals until DD13 figured out they were taxidermy. FTR, ours seemed to focus more on animals of the Northeast (such as moose), with som ewestern animals, not to mention African and I know there was a polar bear. But the focus was on moose and other local game. Just in case anyone is traveling and wants to check the regional flavor of a Cabela's.

Also, they were out of bison burgers and didn't have elk, ostrich, etc. Dh had to settle for a bison brat. I think next trip, he's going down with just DS11.
