I laughed. I cried. It was better than Cats.
I KNOW! Still waiting for YOUR latest and greatest, Mama!
Hay! There is no Goofy's Redneck Kitchen at OUR Cabela's (which is inconveniently located over two hours away).
HA-rumph!!!
Hmmmm . . . I wonder if Cabela's is where Mrs. The King's Jiggler gets her fudge fix when she's not visiting the House of the Mouse
It was quite a drive to Lehi Utah. Savvy-me loaded the kids up with iPod nanos and Nintendo DS's to make the yearly trek less hideous. Still. I can do without the tattling of the littlest one (who's very lucky she's cute or I would be tempted to "pull over" and give her something to "cry about").
Their fudge is soooo good!
I sooo look forward to this post every year!
Thanks!!! (and hello to you!)
LOL! (thanks!)
But honestly, Wendy Lou, a fabulous trippie yet again! Looks like a fun place to go. Right after I actually visit Disney World
You are so funny! Since you WORK for Disney and live RIGHT THERE, maybe you should go?
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS DISUNC, There is a Santa Claus...anf he lives in the Keyboard of Utah Mama!
HAPPY NEW YEAR UM!
HI DISUNC!!!!!! and happy new year to YOU!
Utahmama!!! you rock!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL....thanks Peep!
Ha! Maybelline should be so cute!
Cuter!
That was freakin' hilarious!!!
We've got a similar red-neck palace here called Bass Pro Shop. We spent our wedding night there.
How totally romantic! I've heard comparisons of the two. I'd love to experience it myself. Thanks!!!
I didn't know we had a Cabela's in Utah. Very funny!
I didn't know there was another Utahan here

Yup, it's in Lehi. Worth the trip (well, once a year anyway).
NO PROBLEM SEEIN Strong like Bull (eyes)
Did you just FLEX?
Now thats
IMPOSSIBLE TO READ! It could be from a chinese menu
I KNOW! We re-sized it too little. Trust me, all manner of weird meat is representin'. Or your eyes are just old.

What part of the Bull???????????????????
The edible parts?
Cute & AHEAD of her time!
Unfortunately, yes.
Ummmmm...not for nuttin...but if I recall correctly you used the same words when describing how you married your husband???? "he was swooped up begrudgingly to go with us"
Poor thing had NOOO idea what he was getting himself into!
Do they accept resumes online? I think my Sister is PERFECT for this job. She makes these all the time.
Ewwwwww! I love your family stories, Uncle Dis!
He is the REASON for the SEASON!
Not touching THAT. Soooo glad He is so forgiving
Wow could you smell the SALT from the lake????
Did you swoop over the Osmond Christmas Compound at the end of the ride?
Yes, you can smell the salt on a windy day (really!). Marie says "hi"!
Amazingly I havent been banned from this Board...YET! Dont want to start NOW!
YET!
LOVE this pic of you and Norah!!!! :
GREAT THREAD, WENDY!!!!!!!!!!
I absolutely love Cabela's but only know it through their catalog.
My DSis in Maine worked at their brand new store in Scarborough, ME last summer! Due to the move I was never able to get to ME to see the store...heard it is a beauty!
Thanks PEEP! Someday your dream will come true and you too will know the joy of all that is Cabela's, The Redneck Disney!
Woohoo
Awesome report, just as fabulous as last years!
Looky like much fun was had by all
Another Peep! HI!!!!!! and thanks!
Wooo Hooooo!!!
Lovin' the TR!!!
However, that menu scares this East Coast girl....
I know. Most of it is weird (or should I say, "different") but lots of folks like it. The buffalo/bison meat is NOT yucky, I swear. I've tasted elk (accidentally) and it wasn't too horrible either. Still.
I really hope you keep going to Cabela's every year!
Excellent report!
Thanks Melindee!

Oh, you never disappoint! I can't believe how grown up Norah is now--she's adorable as always but absolutely a little girl and not a toddler anymore.
Thanks for that! People are surprised she's only 4. She wears size 6 in big girl clothes.
Excellent TR! I'll be looking forward to next year's report!
I'm laughing-out-loud only because it's ALL I'm gonna be able to do for a while. Looking at the positive, it'll be extra magical if/when I ever get back to Mickey. Thanks a bunch!
Hey! We hit our first Cabela's this past weekend, the one in East Hartford, CT. No candy section--I'd have noticed. The kids liked the animals until DD13 figured out they were taxidermy. FTR, ours seemed to focus more on animals of the Northeast (such as moose), with som ewestern animals, not to mention African and I know there was a polar bear. But the focus was on moose and other local game. Just in case anyone is traveling and wants to check the regional flavor of a Cabela's.
Also, they were out of bison burgers and didn't have elk, ostrich, etc. Dh had to settle for a bison brat. I think next trip, he's going down with just DS11.
We have local "trophy's," as well as animals from many other regions, too. Interesting to see the size differences of each species.
NO CANDY?!?
You forgot "Heartwarming"!!!!!
When they 'swooped up' that
little orphan boy & bought him Pizza, I lost it!

More heart wrenching than when "Half Pint" fell down the well, every week, on
Little House!
Hee hee, see below's post to Twinkie.
If any of you all (

) are near NW Ohio, you should check out the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World South of Toledo. IMO its nicer than the Cabelas in MI or WV. It doesnt have any of the dead carcass worlds like Cabelas african or roadkill exhibits but does have some nice themeing.
When I was at the Cabelas in WV in Dec, I have never seen so much camo in my life...
Yes I did take pics while I was at outdoor world
Well? you simply must post your pics! "This here's" one of "them" interactive/sharing threads.
I was *this* close to buying a PINK camo top. Y'all are welcome!
Hi Wendy
Loved your trip report. You always make me smile !
I saw Melinda Posted... "Hi Melinda"
Kim
Thank you! Melinda is contractually obligated to post.
I stand corrected. It was "
heartwarming"!
I know you are the king of Pop Culture.... but I thought Timmy fell down the well, every week, on
Lassie and and on
Little House, in an even more heart wrenching plot, every week Half Pint helps a little crippled girl walk and stands up to the teasing from that mean Nellie Oleson.
However, this Trip Report out does them BOTH.

Orphan boys eating pizza...I am getting all misty eyed just thinking about it. *sniff*
You forgot the plot twist (which I forgot to mention) where the mother, played by the lovely, unwrinkled, with nary any cellulite, Reese Witherspoon , eats only half of her turkey wrap intending to save the rest for her starving 19 yr. old son who couldn't come on the adventure with his precious family...and selfishly eats it on the voyage home because she was famished again. I tell ya, the characterization was five stars and is sure to make the Oprah book club.
UM - Love your Cabela TR. We have been to the one in PA three times. My sons love it. The first and second time we went was on a trip to VA to visit DH's sister and going down we spent 3 hours there and coming home 2 1/2 hours. Now we have one in CT about an hour away. Not quite as big as the one in PA but the boys and even DD3 love it just as much. We often go to Goofy's kitchen for lunch which I try to imagine that I'm NOT eating buffalo, elk or ostrich anything. My DH has tried the bison brats and loves it. Get's it everytime we go. I'm with Norah, give me beef anytime.
Oh and being a peep with you, I saw nothing

Sisterhood of the Peeps!
I will say that I love me some buffalo burgers. Blows regular beef burgers out of the water! And those circus peanuts? My grandma had a seemingly bottomless candy jar full of them when I was growing up. So yeah, I kinda like them A LOT.
I know! (about the burgers) and YUCK, on the circus peanuts. YEEEUUUCK!
Excellent TR!
Could you please send a cinammon chocolate treat to the UK?!
Of course! They really are a yumscious combo.
