Cabela's! The Annual Redneck-Disney "Trip Report"

Your annual TR is too freakin' hilarious!!! We got a Cabela's here in Reno this past spring and I swear I see the same look in DH's eyes when he talks about making a trip to Cabela's as I do when I talk about WDW.

:lmao: We did our yearly trek to Cabela's Saturday! Ours is in Dundee, MI. We have one in Hammond, IN but personally we went once and hated it. It was smaller, less ???atmosphere/personality or something. And had no other stores in the area. Whereas the one in Dundee has a Russel Stover's store across the street, plus a few restaurants, gas stations and other shops.

We always eat in the Cabela's restaurant, DH and the boys got the elk sandwich warmed up and I got the philly steak (huge and messy!!). I was fudged out from Christmas so no fudge this trip but I did grab some jerky. Gotta love the sarcastic hunters that saw me grab the jerky then one tells the other "We don't need any of that jerky, we can make our own." So being the sweet angel I am...ok so I was petty but when I saw them buying plain ole chocolate fudge I told DS "We don't need any fudge I can make that any time" ;) Although I love their maple nut fudge and their grasshopper fudge. Last year their fudge kept better than the fudge from Frankenmuth, MI.

Another poster mentioned Bass Pro Shop. We went to the Portage, IN one this summer and it was pretty nice. I think this summer we'll check out the Toledo one and hit the Toledo zoo the same day.

thanks for the trippe.. our boy scout troop is having their Feb Court of Honor there.. so it was a great preview of the fun to come..

I'm curious to see if Cabella's stock goes up after one of your Gemmy TR's.

We have one, but it's strategicly placed too far away.

Be still my heart! The Utah Familys annual pilgrimage to Cabela's! :faint:

You crack me up, girlfriend! :lmao:

I stand corrected. It was "heartwarming"!

I know you are the king of Pop Culture.... but I thought Timmy fell down the well, every week, on Lassie and and on Little House, in an even more heart wrenching plot, every week Half Pint helps a little crippled girl walk and stands up to the teasing from that mean Nellie Oleson.

However, this Trip Report out does them BOTH. :yay: Orphan boys eating pizza...I am getting all misty eyed just thinking about it. *sniff*

Yes Timmy did have a nack for falling into wells, that kid was a idiot! But since that was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before MY TIME, I used the rip off version of Little House. :thumbsup2

BELOW IS NOT TO BE READ MY UTAH MAMA...IT IS SECRETLY DECODED, AND YOUR POWERS CANNOT PENETRATE THIS CODE....SO DONT EVEN TRY!

Speaking of Nellie Olsen....dont Utah Mama look very much like her.

You forgot the plot twist (which I forgot to mention) where the mother, played by the lovely, unwrinkled, with nary any cellulite, Reese Witherspoon , eats only half of her turkey wrap intending to save the rest for her starving 19 yr. old son who couldn't come on the adventure with his precious family...and selfishly eats it on the voyage home because she was famished again. I tell ya, the characterization was five stars and is sure to make the Oprah book club.

Be careful with the Oprah book club....just read yesterday, another one of her Book Club Autobiograhies has been founded to be "untrue":rolleyes1
I dont think ANYONE (well maybe Twinkie Mama) wants to see you on Oprah while she scolds and berates you with all the brimstone of Judge Judy screaming at a deadbeat dad who stole money from his girlfriend to buy a motorcycle & Chutzbah of Sister Mary Enuciata during my 5th Grade Homeroom class.:scared1:

PS Is this the same 19 year old you wouldnt take to Disney last time...Cause "It's ONLY for Kids"?????:3dglasses

I will be back later, when I'm thoroghly snockered, sometime early next year, and 'review' the second part of your annual Redneck report. I did notice that you didnt wear your Tiara this year.

had to share this with DH, we are planning on going this weekend. He has a whole new appreciation for Cabelas :rotfl2:

And yes, we will be having Bison burgers :woohoo:

OMG, Wendy! I'm so excited this is now an annual tradition!! I did have the chance to hit one of these up this summer, and we thought of you and your family the entire time!

Thanks everyone for the nice words!

Happy New Year!

:lmao:
Two thumbs up. Fine holiday fun.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I'm glad to know that i'm not the only mom to take her family to cabela's for a "vacation" but do you have a russell stovers outlet across from yours? :rolleyes1 we really live it up big around here :lmao: Thanks for the great tr you made my day!

We also go to the Gateway outdoor shopping center with their interactive fountains instead of going to a water park. :thumbsup2

No, we don't bring coolers and lawn chairs.
