A cabana was available, so I snagged it for the guests in my stateroom. The problem is, we have two staterooms. Mine has me, my SIL and two of her children -- an infant and two year old. The other room has my other SIL and the three older children (two of mine, and one is the sibling of the babies). They are 10, 11, and 13.

I would really like my SIL to be able to have a place to camp out with the babies, but we do need the older kids to be able to come and check in with us. I'm not trying to break the rules -- we wouldn't let them play on the beach or hang out in the cabana, but if they can't get to us at all, that would be a problem. I will probably spend most of the day with the three older kids, but would want to be available to help out with the babies too.

How restricted is the access? And am I trying to force something that just won't work?

I'm sure someone will chime in with exact info, but the cabana cost I thought was for X number of people and then it added 50ish bucks after that per person. Actual babies I'm betting are free probably. I think I'm adding up 8 people 3 of whom are adults and one is an infant?

I think you can add them all to your cabana - aren't the family cabanas for up to 10 people? The charge will go to 1 stateroom but assuming you all get along well enough that the others can split the cost with you. I believe it's an upcharge for more than 6 people, but not sure if the babies count in that or not.

Enjoy your cruise!

The cabana cost is for 6 people. You can add up to 4 more for $50 each. So, if they charge for all of you you will have to pay an additional $100. If the infant and 2 year old are free then you are within the base limit of 6. If they do charge for the youngest two you will have to pay the additional $100 for everyone to come to the cabana. Visitors are not allowed.

Paid for = wrist band = access. That's the only way I know to make it work.

You can put up to 10 guests in a family cabana (if my understanding is correct), so it looks like you are fine with 8 people.

No "visitors." You are either authorized to be there (paid) or not.

The reservation system won't let me add additional guests to the reservation. It specifically says the names of our four people, so I think that means I'll get four wristbands. I guess I need to call Disney.

You got the cabana that is the hard part. On the ship you can just have the people added at port adventures. The night before castaway cay you will get a surprise in you room with the wrist bands. I am not sure if the other stateroom will get the same surprise. Certainly though you will have no problems adding more people on the ship in either case.

If you can not see them on the list either greyed out or able to select? are your cabins linked together?

If you want to sit at the same dinner table, you need to link them. And if you want to book an excursion for them, you should link them.

We had 6 adults split between two linked cabins but could only reserve the 3 guests in our cabin for the cabana when booking online. However, we were given 6 wristbands in our stateroom along with the cabana letter and instructions. You should expect to receive a minimum of 6 wristbands as well in your cabin for the base rental.

Maybe a dumb question here - are you sure you have a cabana on the family beach? The cabanas at Serenity Bay (adult beach) have a base reservation for 4.

Next question - are your 2 rooms linked?

:cutie:

But did the other room receive their bands as well? Usually you get the amount of bands that you reserve, no more no less. We always got the three bands we reserved, but we got more when we asked for them later.

We got four bands for us. I asked for two more. They said sure, if you give us their name and room #. It was all moot because we didn't make it to CC after all.

We received all 6 bands in our cabin without asking. We only were able to list the 3 guests in our stateroom on our rsvp online. The other 3 adults were in an adjoining cabin to us. Both cabins were linked in the system.

Update -- just got back from the cruise. I was able to add the guests in the other stateroom by contacting the Concierge (had to get their extension from Shore Excursions, as you can't just go up to the Concierge level without a key). We got 8 wrist bands, and I was charged an additional $50.

Cabanas were totally worth the money considering we had a baby, a toddler, a mother who can't go anywhere without three diaper bags and a ginormous stroller, and a young woman who sunburns if she gets too close to the windows (seriously, I think she's part vampire). We had a lot of "special needs" and they took great care of us.

Thanks for the update - can you (or anyone) discuss the extra cost. We are traveling with another families - all reservations are linked.

The main cabin of 5 secured the cabana
The second cabin of 2 will be joining them.
They invited us (cabin of 3) to join them also.

Can you confirm that if they add us it will be an extra $150????

The base price of the cabana (on the family beach) is $499. That covers up to 6 people. You can add additonal people, up to a maximum of 10 people in the cabana at $50 each. So it would be an additional $200.

The first two families are seven total. The poster's family is only three, so if they are paying for their particular share it would only be $150.
