Hi everyone. My hubby and I went to DC for the 1st time on August 18th. We did the dolphin swim and also rented a cabana along with a celebration package for our 25th anniversary. I won't lie it was very expensive but both my husband and I agree we'd do it all over again.
I've seen some discussions on the cabana rental on here and thought I'd put my 2 cents in.
I personally and I know my husband agrees that we both felt it was well worth renting the cabana. Neither one of us likes crowds and even if the crowd level is low compared to other parks the area where all the beach chairs are located felt kind of crowded to me. Our cabana was located just off the grand reef and there were only about 5 other cabana's on each side of it. All of the cabana's had greenery around them and it felt very private.
It was like our own little oasis. We had our own locker, our own fridge and a wonderful cabana attentant that checked in on us throughout the day to see whatever we needed. It even had it's own little tiny beach area leading into the grand reef. I especially enjoyed having the shade and a ceiling fan.
Some people feel it's not worth the money and I won't argue that it does add to the expense however it just made the day all the more relaxing to us and we've already decided when and if we're ever able to go back we'll rent one again.
I sure wish I could post some pictures of it but I don't really know how. Sorry. But I hope the description is helpful. :)

we have rented one,for our trip in oct.i think it is all down,to personal choice, whether to rent one or not,but we are really looking forward to it.
glad you had a good time
tracy x
