Hi,

Looking for any usual information on renting a Cabana, has anyone any experiences to share?

Not a lot of information about I am afraid, I have found a few pictures on the internet and can see overhead images on the BING 'live maps' website plus some older comments on the DIS too.

Just back from DC this weekend. Saw a few of them and while they looked nice we spent maybe 20 minutes at our beach charis all day. We arrived at the part at about 830 and left at 430. I had origianally looked at booking them but they wanted $175 plus tax. Unless you plan on using it a lot it may not be worth the price.

I'm not sure when you are going, but we are going on October 3 and have rented a cabana. I can let you know our experience when we return.

the highest priced one is 499.00 i believe. the 179.00 one was not avail. when i made our reservations.

when i called, i believe there are only 3 or 4 cabanas in all. one is the high priced one. i suspect if they are available when you call, you can pick the one you want. when i called, none of them were available. she said to call back to see if there are any cancellations but we decided it is too pricey.

Do they let you pick your location?

Thanks for the responses everyone.

Connie yes I would be glad if you could post your experiences when you get back from your vacation.

I think we are looking at the $179 option, just to give us something extra at the park - our son is disabled so I think having a Cabana will have us enjoy the day more.

if you watch Kate plus 8, the kids 6th b-day show, they show them using one of the cabanas. i wanted one due to being disabled, so i understand.

We are doing the "Premium package" as a celebration for my daughter's birthday. It was $229 plus tax (total $243.89). I have no idea what cabana we will get.

We are also doing a cabana at Aquatica on Friday October 1st for my husband's birthday. It is the premium cabana by Lowe's for $179.99.

I will post an update when we return.

Thanks again. :)

It was great having the cabana, it felt like we were practically the only ones there. Plus we could stand at the edge and watch the dolphin experiences with other peopl.

I don't have all my pictures developed yet but here are a few from the cabana we rented at discovery cove, and also the wheelchair that they let you use there. I called it my "Edith Anne" chair, lol!

I have really bad bursitis in my hip and can't do a lot of walking, so it was nice to have a place to just hang out and relax. My only complaint was that the lazy river did not have much of a current to keep you just floating along and I got a bad cramp in my leg trying to swim to find an exit.

We got the premium package that came with the dolphin bringing me a Happy Birthday Buoy.

The cabana had a small fridge that was stocked with sodas and beer, and we had an attendant that came by frequently to refill our snacks and drinks.
