We are sailing next week, and while I had no intention of this, I just snagged a Cabana on Serenity Bay at LCLP. I'm not sure if I'm keeping it yet or not. I've never really paid attention much to info on these as it is not something I would normally want, but this is a special cruise as my DS just got back from deployment, and we lost my Mom last week, so I feel if we are ever going to splurge on this, this is the time. And where I randomly stumbled upon it, I almost feel like it was a sign and I should (yes, I'm trying to justify). :teeth:

So, is there anything special I need to know? Do you think it's worth the money? I sort of recall hearing you get someone there to bring drinks and stuff? Do you tip them (in addition to what you normally tip on the bar bill)? How much? Anything I'm missing? Thanks for any info!

Absolutely worth the money if you have anyone who is crowd sensitive, sun sensitive, or just want a place to hang together. There is a phone/call system to request beverages, lifts back to the ship, etc. The food is an easy walk for lunch.
The bar bill will have the 18% gratuity. Presume you are staying concierge? The staff who handle the cabanas are usually concierge so you can increase the tip to your overall concierge team. As for the amount, I usually tip based on how many hours we’re on the island x $5, $10/ hour depending on how much service was used.
Sorry about your mom, and glad your DS returned home to you.
Make memories.

Thank you!

We are not concierge. I was looking to possibly change the tour we had booked to another when I saw the cabana was available and I snagged it then. So without a concierge team is there anyone I need to tip? 24 years of Disney cruising and 30 sailings under my belt yet I have no idea about his stuff, LOL!

So yes, you do want to tip the cabana hosts. I recommend same $$ amount but you’ll want to hand deliver in cash. Then it’s up to the host to split it out.

@CamColt I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. I lost my mom two weeks before our big DCL Iceland cruise a couple years ago and it was a bittersweet trip but there were so many ways she was still with me on that trip. So happy to hear your son is back from deployment so you can enjoy time together as a family. I have never snagged a cabana but it sounds like the perfect way to relax and be pampered.

Oh ok, so there are hosts there with you? What exactly do they do for you?

Thank you! I'm sorry for your loss also. My mom was big into vacations, especially Disney and cruises, so I know she would want us to still go...especially since DS made it home in time (there was some concern as we didn't have an exact date until 3 days before he returned but I chanced it and booked him anyway.).

So sorry for the loss of your mom. At Lookout Cay they have iPads so you can do your drink and food orders using those. I have never been in a cabana on Lookout Cay but we were in one on Castaway Cay last year and it was amazing! It was definitely worth the splurge! Have a wonderful time on your cruise! :flower1:
