I need to check out of the Boardwalk and get all our luggage and stuff over to the Dolphin for a conference, any idea what the cab fare would be? I don't think it would be too much fun taking in on the Friendship boat.

I've driven from BW to Dolphin and it's all of about 3 minutes in the car. Not sure about the fare, but if you don't have a ton of luggage, it's probably a 5 minute walk from the pool area of BW to the Dolphin.

If it was me (the cheapo and proud of it) I'd carry what I could to Dolphin right away and leave the rest with bell services at BW, then come back for it later.

I bet they will they will transfer your luggage for you

I could be wrong but it can't hurt to ask - I know if you are switching WDW resorts they will transfer your luggage for you!

ETA: I just did a search and I found someone who said they will transfer your luggage and someone who said they won't -

I think a call to BW would be your best bet!!

I took Julia & Nicks mom's advise and called BW. The CM I spoke with said bell services could take our luggage to Dolphin for us. I figured even if we had to take a cab, it could be too much since they are so close.

that is awesome!!

I heard a cab ride from the Dolphin to DTD is $16 and that is further! But it is nice to know they will transfer it for you and you don't have to worry about getting it there!

I'd heard once that you couldn't transfer luggage b/c Dolphin was not Disney operated -- so I didn't mention it as an option -- but I'm glad to hear that you actually can! I will keep that in mind for our future trips... gotta love the DIS!

It's probably a $6 cab ride, and with a bunch of luggage I'd make sure to tip a dollar a bag on top of the regular tip.

Why is it about $6 for such a short trip? Well, as soon as the car starts there's a initial fare of about $2.50. Then it clicks by the time and distance. now the distance would only add a dollar or so, but by the time you go through the gate and the three traffic lights (if you take the short route) or all the way around and under Crescent Lake on the longer route, and actually get in to the drop off area, it's going to be another $3~ in time/travel.
