CAA Room only discount?

What is the CAA room only discount for Disney hotels? When I called AMA to get a room only price she quoted me the exact same amount as what I got from Disney. She also indicated the deposit for room only reservations through AMA is non-refundable. I have never heard of this. Also she said the full amount would have to be paid in advance before departure. I thought when you made a room only reservation you gave a refiundable deposit (with enough advance cancellation notice) and you paid the balance on either arrival or departure from the hotel. Since when did you have to pay hotel only in advance?

That sounds very different from my experience. We're leaving for The World in just over two weeks. First I booked our rooms at Coronado Springs directly through Disney. One room had daily park passes, the other did not. The flights were booked separately through the airline. Later, I read on this board that I could transfer the Disney portion of our trip over to CAA and get their discount. When I did, I got a 10% discount for not only the rooms but for the park passes. There were several discount vouchers in my ticket package as well. Before I made the transfer, I was guaranteed that the same conditions applied as with Disney, so I don't believe that I'm locked in. I can cancel within the normal time frame if it should become necessary (although short of something major - that isn't going to happen).
