Finally got the CA Grill reservation - now how do I get a seat to see the fireworks? Call the restaurant that day? Call the reservation line now? Meal is on Sept. 25....

There's nothing you can do ahead of your arrival at the podium to check in, and even then the options might be limited. You can let the CM know that you're willing to wait for a window seat and then find out if one will be available and how long the wait will be. Keep in mind that everyone wants a window seat!

But -- the fireworks really are visible from most of the restaurant, and there is a viewing deck that you can go out to during the show. The restaurant staff is expert at timing meals so that guests can get up and watch the show -- after all, that's the big draw for the restaurant.

I don't believe you can be guaranteed a window table with a fireworks view. You can say when you arrive at the check-in desk that you will wait for one if you are not already being assigned one. Whether or not you might get one would then depend on how close you are to fireworks time, because I'd bet within an hour of the show nobody who has one is going to give it up. But you do not need one to be able to see the show.

Even if you're not seated near a window, you will still have a great view. We were seated near the kitchen (which was more fun to watch than the rain outside), and we could clearly see the MK from our table once the clouds dispersed. We weren't there late enough to see the fireworks, but based on our view from our seats, we would have been fine.

We have eaten there 4 times. Once we had a view of the castle. We actually like to be seated in the small room in the back - been there twice. The views of Bay Lake and towards EPCOT are wonderful. The resteraunt tends to be loud and this room is quieter and cozy with wonderful views. You can always see the fireworks from outside on the deck. The staff totally works around them and encourage you to go see them. As PP's have said, anywhere you sit seems to be great!!

We always ask for a window table and have always gotten one - we always plan so we're around for the fireworks. Sometimes we wait 5 minutes other times more like 20 - 25 minutes. We love the view and the sunset while eating, but usually go outside on the deck to watch Wishes...:)

You didn't mention what time your reservation is? How close it is to Wishes can determine likelyhood of getting a table near window. The thing you can't predict is how long people will take to eat. I have eaten at CG 4 times now, 2 I got a table by the window and 2 I didn't. The first time I got a table by the window, just happened, didn't ask - it was very nice, fun to see fireworks. Next time I ASKED for a table, and was willing to wait, until that wait turned into 1 hour. I would never do that again. The 2 times I sat just "in the restaurant" we went outside to watch fireworks. It was fine, brought my drink, appetizers were waiting when we got back and then we had a nice dinner. Bottom line, either way you'll have fun!

Good point on the time thing - our dinner is at 7:25, and Wishes is at 9 p.m. that evening. I was hoping we would be having dessert, and if we are already done we could just go out on the balcony. Thanks everyone!

I was going to post this exact thing. We loved sitting in the wine room off to the side it was so much more quiet and felt more relaxed/romantic as a result. Fireworks started soon after we finished our entrees so we went out to the observation deck to watch them and soon after we came back our waiter delivered our desserts it was wonderful!

We show up a little early, and ask very nicely if we can wait for a window table to open up.

If you don't get one, no worries, you can have an excellent view of Wishes from outside on the observation deck!

As the PP have said we have been seated in the wine room in IMO it is a nicer experience and much quieter.

if you have something you are celebrating, a birthday, anniversary, etc that you add to your reservation prior to going -- chances are the something special will be enough to get you a window seat
