CA - FL What to do on Sea Days?

Hi everyone,

We just booked the CA- FL cruise (actualy booked last Wed at a great rate!) This is our first cruise on DCL and only our 2nd cruise ever.

My main question is concerning the amount of "sea days". With so many scheduled, do you think the ship will be ale to entertain us and the kids? Will the mickey pool seem "over-run" with hundreds of kids?

Any thoughts regarding how DCL is planning to keep what looks to be a FULL ship happy, entertained and not feeling like we are sitting on top of each other?

Are my concerns even vaild??

supposedly there will be "extra" entertainment on the 14 day cruises ... and I'm guessing most of it will be on sea days ... probably won't have a lot of those details until early 2005 (or possibly after the 1st 14 day cruise in May )

I imagine the pool areas will be rather busy on sea days ... but I don't know about them being "over run" by "hundreds" of kids ... a lot of the kids will be entertained in the kids' club areas, so not all kids will be at the pools at the same time ... plus I don't know what the kid/teen capacity limit is on the ships.

I think they will move the main entertainment and formal days to the sea days and upgrade some events such as the cruisers entertainment, your own talent shows etc.

The port days will have a few of the deck parties. Acapolco a dead cert for one!

I found on the 7 day cruise there was too much to do and you missed something, the kids wouldnt come out of the club, so they missed the big shows, and so moving some of the daytime entertainment to 'prime time' will fill in.

Match your mate, adult cabaret show, line dancing, experience the magic,
The'' Island magic show'' maybe upgraded or undertaken a couple of times. family karaoke, possiblly the Film premEAR, might be one of the port nights instead of a show.

I have been on a princess cruise both 10 day carribean and 14 day PC and the PC was the same but padded out more with more familiy entertainment.

I think a talent show one evening as a full show, is most likly.

They havent done much on food before, but the cooks could show you making certain dish'es.

I am really looking forward to all of the sea days on the repositioning. On my last 7-day with DCL, there were so many things that I wanted to do on the sea days and just not enough time to do them. I wanted to do the "behind the scenes" tours and discussions with the chefs and the show actors, there was also the wine tastings, the champagne brunch, high tea, bingo, and numerous other scheduled activities and of course I also wanted to spend some quality time with a book and a lounge chair!

I'm sure that DCL will add enough extras to the schedule to be sure that everyone has way too much to choose from. As far as the kids, personally I don't think that we will see as many kids on the repositioning cruises as we would on regular 7 day cruises. In many parts of the country, kids will be in school for both repo cruises and I also think that the current prices are going to keep alot of families away.

I think that on sea days I will be by the adult pool, relaxing, enjoying the weather (no rain) and having a cold drink or two. I imagine there will be a lot of onboard activities to keep everyone amused. If you look at the DCLTribute site, you will see that there are lots of things going on during the 7 day sailings while at sea. We will just be luckier to have double the amount! I wonder if we will have 2 nights of color in AP, and 2 formal/2 semi formal nights?

Thanks for the input everyone. It's nice to know that there are so many activities that are currently on the 7 day cruises.

School for us doesn't start till after Labor Day, which is why we choose the CA-FL reposition cruise.

I know in general, it is an older group that cruises the canal, but with this being Disney, I think there will still be many families on board. What a wonderful educational experience for us all!!

I am looking forward to all the extra seadays..maybe now, we can finally take advantage of some of the great things offered on the ship.
You never feel like you are on top of anyone..even with a full ship..there is so much to do/so much going on..and not everyone wants to do the same thing at once.
