We were just there last week (left on Sunday) and they still had some left in both gift shops.

If they are cutting back on FW merchandise because of the economy I would expect to see FW items return as the economy improves. Maybe the drought won't be too long.

And, really, just a side note, if the "economy is so crappy" at Disney, then why is it so hard to get a reservation.....anywhere on property within a 6 or 8 month window.....just curious[/QUOTE]

When checking into reservations today, I found that the more days I add to the reservation, the more available the hotels became. For example if I wanted a six day stay in October, it was booked/not available. If I requested ten or twelve days (which were inclusive of the original six days I wanted)... miraculously, all twelve days were available. The exact same days were not available to me for six, but the same days are available if I add more days, i.e. MORE MONEY TO DISNEY.

I admit that I am a bit disappointed that Disney is doing this...just doesn't seem right to me.

Back in the 90's and early 2000's they had lots of sales in front of the meadows. It was great good deals all the time but they had to take that away. Disney is getting ridiculous now, too bad Walt was not still kicking Disney would have been much better.
