By show of hands... how many of you have spouses who are as crazy about DVC/Disney

You can count us in too . I am not sure who is the bigger Disney fanatic, him or me :rotfl:. DH helps me plan out our trips (to an extent), I do all the bookings and manage our points, but DH loves to help pick out our restaurants and talk about our upcoming plans. What is so funny about my DH is that I was the one that was begging and pleading with him to buy into DVC but since he really didn't like the whole thought of owning points he would not even consider it. That was until I ordered the DVC informational video and showed it to him. Afterwards he started to like the idea of it more, and then in Sept 2010 we went on a DVC tour and I think that is where he fell in love with the idea (I really think it was touring the mock room of BLT because CR is his favorite resort) and we decided to buy right then and there. Since then we have added on and are planning on adding on again in the near future. My DH has told me that he plans on buying enough points so that when it is time for us to retire we can stay in a DVC resort during the winter months .

In the minority here. Have two contracts in ROFR right now. My husband is pretty anti-Disney, and I have no idea how I convinced him DVC should happen, as he is a very, very frugal person. My daughter (11) and I went to WDW for her birthday last year and had an awesome time, and I'm going back this year with her and her best friend. I guess he decided if we used it judiciously it would be less expensive than staying with cash at Deluxe resorts (which is where we stay). In any event, since we're buying, he says he's coming with us on every DVC trip. I equate it to the way he stuffs himself at an All-You-Can-Eat-Buffet, not because he thinks the food is good, but because he paid for it. I don't think he'll ever be a huge park fan, but I do think he can develop an appreciation for the resorts, the theming, and some of the better dining options, as well as the family togetherness and relaxation time. I am hoping that because we're buying DVC my daughter and I won't feel we have to rush the parks as much and won't feel like we're "missing something" by taking a resort day here and there.

DH doesn't love going to Disney the way I do, and he doesn't like the cruises as much as I do, but he likes going with me!:goodvibes

My sister and myself are the biggest Disney Nuts. Followed by my nieces.
I have 2 great nephews ages 3 and 1.5 that we are indoctrinating. Now my brother always resists but seems to have the best time once we get him there. :wave2::wave2:Sorry this is suppose to be about spouses....don't have one of those. Next time I will have to read the title of the thread closer. LOL

I had to talk DH into DVC and now he is the one who can't wait to go. I asked him if it would be allright if I took some girlfriends to F&W next year and you would have thought I had asked him for a divorce! He said yes if he gets to go too! We love our DVC (and we are in our 60's). Definately count us in!!:yay::yay:

This is our house as well. DH loves WDW and our DVC but does nothing with our account. I'm not sure he even knows any of the DVC rules except what the booking windows are. As well he doesn't have anything to do with the planning. Occasionally he will put in a restaurant request but otherwise he pretty much just shows up. Which works out just fine because I love to do the planning.

Sounds like us exactly!:wave2:

Like some of the other posts here, I do the purchasing of points, the planning, etc etc etc. My hardcore former Marine husband, who all those many years ago I thought would not be a "Disney Guy"....loves it. We were both a bit of work-alcoholics, and buying into DVC was the best thing we ever did to force us to vacation. He goes along with it, loves loves loves Epoct, the resort pools, the hot tubs, and eating out on the patio of Big River Grille. :goodvibes Life is so good!

Disney simply provides an opportunity for us as a couple and as a family to do what we enjoy the most.....create memories and enjoy time together. With lot's of laughter!

Neither my husband or myself had ever been to Disney until 2000, when we went on a trip with my brother and his family, our son, daughter-in-law, daughter, son-in-law and 4 year old granddaughter. We fell in love with it. Had 2 more non-DVC trips in 2002 and 2006. We bought into DVC in 2007 and have had numerous trips since. We have shared with family and friends and even had a couple of trips just the 2 of us. We have been to HH twice and Vero once. DH enjoys it very much but doesn't do much as far as the planning. We were there in December with friends and heading down in June to BWV for our "Boy are you Brave" trip with our 3 grandchildren and 3 of their friends and will be celebrating my one year since starting treatment for cancer trip. Life is good!

My husband is a bigger Disney fan than I am! And my mom (who lives with us and goes on most trips with us) is even worse! I think those two and my younger DD are tied, then followed closely by myself and my older DD.

My husband is the planner, mostly. He makes some pretty awesome spreadsheets!

:) I begged for DVC in 2009...DH said "only if it is AKL". So he twisted my arm and we purchased our contract. I do all the obsessing and planning, spreadsheets, calling and booking. He just smiles and misses sleep the night before we go. He was fine with one trip a year until DVC provided two...now he loves it even more. He doesn't like to travel but knows that Disney gives us both a great vacation.

Our next trip is in Nov. The plan or hope is to do MNNHP and MVMCP in one trip--the last of one and first of the other...it is on HIS bucket list.

:wave2::wave2:

DH & I had been to WDW before we met & a couple times after, but never stayed at a Disney Resort. We didn't fall in love with WDW till we stayed the first time at CSR during the millenium with 2 toddlers in tow.

We've been back many times since, finally bought DVC in 2005 & I've always been the planner. Like others have said, DH knows some of the basic rules but he has NEVER contacted MS. I think he'd be lost! LOL

The teens OTOH, would go on a Disney Cruise any day, but they've been to WDW so many times that they think it's boring so we started leaving them home! :rolleyes1

as you are?

Can't believe DH just suggested a last minute trip to Disney!
I am scrambling to find DVC availability :scared:

I am totally ecstatic but freaking out at the same time...

Me and DH are obsessed with Disney World!!! We never vacation anywhere else. My 20 month old daughter is even obsessed with the Disney channel/movies/toys. It's so adorable, right before a Disney movie when they show the castle and play the music for "when you wish upon a star" she starts clapping and screams YAY! She has been to Disney World twice so far and she will be going on her third trip when she is about 2 and a half. We truly are a Disney family. LOVE IT!!

We've been going since the 1970s (how many can remember the Swan Boats, E tickets, If You Had Wings, Magic Journeys, Horizons, and Melvin the Moose character breakfast, the best character breakfast show there ever was). We started going as adults without kids and now all the kids are grown and gone except for one who is handicapped and now an adult. It is DW's favorite and mine and it is the best possible place to go when you have a handicapped child whom they treat like a true princess.

:wave: I've been a geek since forever but the first trip was a disaster in 1989...Thank goodness for AK and a bag of candy on our resort door at Christmas in 1998! Funny what can create a convert.

Suddenly DVC and AP's followed...and we live happily ever after;)

DH is definitely as crazy about WDW and DVC as I am!

I will never forget the moment I knew he was addicted. We were on the plane on our way home from WDW. We had gotten annual passes the previous trip, and had just completed our second trip with them, and I think those were also our first 2 DVC stays. We had no idea when our next trip would be yet, but assumed it would be at least a year away. DH turned to me on the plane and said, "Ya know, we still have 6 weeks left on our passes!" I booked another trip for just the 2 of us as soon as we got home! It's just so easy when the resort room feels "free"!

My wife and i are both disney freaks :rotfl2:...Me more than my wife. Same goes for DVC as well.:thumbsup2

My DH is crazy for Disney. He sits back lets me make all the reservations and cannot wait to get on the plane to get there:banana:
