BWV: where located? can you store perishables before check in? community hall?

Very excited. Looks like I'll be staying in a one bedroom- standard- at the BoardWalk Villas next winter (rented points!!).

I've never stayed there before.

When I check in, if I have perishables from the grocery store, can they store these in a frig before we are allowed in our room?? Any tips about doing this?

Also, where exactly ARE the villas? I've looked at a map and if you are facing the complex, standing in the parking lot looking at the main entrance - are the villas going to be to my left, right, both?
Are they near the main pool or a quiet pool? Is it a hike to the main pool from the villas??

What can you tell me about the community hall? I've heard you can rent videos - do they keep current ones here or are they older videos?

BWV are close to Epcot/studios - if you go in the back entry to the studios - BWV is directly across the street.

Yes your grocery can be stored - make sure you have all the ones that need refrigeration in their own bag and make sure you tell the bell services which is which.

the villa are on your left when you face the main entry from the parking lot. they surround the main pool, so no it is not a far walk. there are short cuts - make sure you ask the bell services for the short cuts to the main pool.

the community hall is behind the quiet pool.

you can walk to Epcot or the Studios or take a boat - walking is generally faster - but the boat is fun.

both check in for villa and inn are in the same lobby.

The movies that are available at the community hall are free to DVC members, most of the titles are not new, there are quite a few Disney films ( of course! ). The selection of movies is not huge as if you were going to Blockbuster, but there are enough and it comes in handy if you want to relax in your villa with a movie.
You will love BWV, it is a wonderful resort. Have fun!

hi: most of the standard view villas face the main drive/entrance. the villas extend from around the luna park pool to the quiet pool by community hall. from your villa balcony, there is a good chance you'll be able to see the higher fireworks from epcot. some of the rooms are a hike from the elevators, and it may be easier to use the stairs. when you get into your room, check out where the nearest staircases come out on ground level. we do tend to use the stairs more than the elevators especially when leaving the room. sometimes we'll cheat and use the elevators on the way back to the rooms if we're tired or ate too much. enjoy your stay!

One note on the perishables...when you call for your bags be sure to let them know that you have bags in cold storage and know how many bags total. Even then, they seem to tend to forget to bring the cold stuff...but at least they can't say its your fault!
