We will be staying at BWV in September and on the dining plan. DH doesn't much like spending extra outside of the plan, PLUS we are NOT getting park-hopper tickets. SOOOOO...any tips on breakfast counter service or snack credits?

I'm trying to figure out how to eat in the mornings since my kids will not be able to wait until 9 am in a park to eat breakfast every morning! :)

Thanks for any insight into CS or S credit options at BWV. We've never stayed there before.

You can use the bakery for snack or counter service credits in the morning. I would bring something for them to eat in the room and use my snack credits later in the day but it all depends on the hours you generally eat.

We found that CS options at the Boardwalk were limited and one of the reasons that this resort is not one I would stay at a lot. The Boardwalk Bakery has some great items for quick breakfast (muffins, bagels, etc.) that can use bought using the snack credits. They may also have some simple breakfast sandwiches (but not sure as we were not interested in an actual breakfast).

If this won't due, I would buy some cereal , etc. for the room so you have a bigger variety for the kids.

We just stayed at BWV and frankly had a hard time using the CS. In fact we ended up not using a few and we weren't even able to use them to bring home snacks the way we have in the past. The only place they could do this for us was the bakery and they didn't know how. I have never had any difficulty using the dining plan before and have used it many times at different hotels. BWV needs more CS options, for sure. We did however, have great uses for the snacks and our TS meals.

That said, here is where you can use CS for breakfast - you can go to the bakery and use it there. There are 2 breakfast croissant sandwiches on the menu. But it is limited, and certainly not something my DD would eat. There are also bagels, muffins etc which might work for you. Also, at the Bellvue Lounge, you can get cereal, fruit and coffee and use CS or snack depending on what you get.

Most Table Service restaurants in the parks open an hour before the park opens. 8am reservations.

Plus, when staying at BWV, you can walk to a character breakfast at Cape May Cafe (at Beach Club) or at Garden Grove Cafe (at Swan).

FYI - Garden Grove Cafe does not take the DP, so OP would have to pay out of pocket, and she said hubby was not interested in this idea.

Tiger :)

No one mentioned Hurricane Hannas at Beach Club. They accept the dining plan for counter service and have really good cheeseburger and fries. Just take the boat across and have lunch there. I wouldn't waste my qs meal at the bakery. We rode the boat over in the morning a couple times to the bakery to use snack coupons for breakfast.

We use the DDP and most times have cereal or donuts in our room. Than use out lunch credits at the parks if we are going that day or if we visit another resort or downtown disney. The only really good counter service in the Boardwalk area is Hurricane Hannas. They have limited choices but the food is good. Have fun.:lovestruc

Thanks for all the responses! We will have fun and surely won't starve! :)

The Belle Vue Lounge has a continental breakfast at the BWV. This listed as a Breakfast site for QS meals on the DVC dining plan page.

When we were leaving Magic Kingdom both days that we went there on our last trip, we always stopped at the Main Street Bakery on the way out and picked up some breakfast items to take back with us for the next morning(s). The cinnamon rolls are HUGE - like the size of a head, lol. And each one is only one snack credit because it's $3.99, just under the general snack credit limit. It can seriously feed 3-5 people easily.

That's obviously very sugary, but they have other "snack" options there that would easily work as breakfast for the next morning.

You can also get those individual bowls of cereal and I think packages of bagels and such in the general store downstairs at the BW. I think the bowls of cereal are only like $1-2, so you can use a snack credit on those as well.

There is word on the Beach Club resort thread that they are most likely expanding their breakfast counter service options. That would be a short walk, but still an option.

good luck!

BWV is tough, even the bakery is limited, and the CS are super hard to get a value out of for more than 4 or 5 days, as they only have sandwiches. When we stay at BW, we either go for the DDP or skip it, as we can only use the QS at the parks, as we get tired of the bakery every day. Although a walk over to the BC isn't bad 1 day, it is not ideal every day, especially with a kid or 2 who are tired and hungry back from a day at the park. If you are going more than a couple days, I recommend either DDP, or pay cash for it. If you are going for only 4 or 5 days it isn't bad, but 8+ I wouldn't do DP there, as CS are tough.
