We will be taking our first visit as DVC members this coming December with our two-and-a-half and 1 yr old DDs. We're trying to choose between BWV and BCV because we want to stay close to EPCOT and MGM. I was hoping to get feedback from members who have stayed at both and which they prefer.

SSR is our home resort, so if you've stayed at all three and can compare all three for us that'd be great as well.

Just a side note: I have already booked at our home resort for our dates and plan on wait-listing. I also know that BWV are close to full already for our dates, but just in case all goes well, I'd like to get feedback on all of the resorts that we're considering for this visit.

both are great

BWV only has lock off - the 2nd bedroom has queen bed and a double sleeper sofa.

while there are some dedicated units at BCV that have 2 queen beds (there are only 25).

they are close to the same.

Sometimes BCV units have a bigger balcony (longer).

The BCV villa seemed larger but I'm not sure why. Maybe the lighter colors. Maybe because it wasn't a lock-off. Our BCV unit had a big long balcony. I can't remember the number but it was on the 4th floor overlooking the quiet pool. You can get the exact sizes somewhere: either the DIS or AllEars or the DVC site.

We just left Beach Club Villa 2br and moved over to OKW 2br yesterday. If you are looking for pool time with your family, I would definitely do Beach Club. Stormalong Bay is awesome for the kids. My kids played in the water all day. The sand and zero entry into the water was great for my 3yo. He loved it.

As far as room difference between Boardwalk and Beach Club, I don't see much difference in layout. They are set up very similar and your size family should be fine in a 1br.

That's why we end our vacation at OKW. Our home resort and way more room.

Enjoy your trip!

The rooms are pretty comparable. While, for example, BCV might tend to have larger balconies, it's still possible to get a dinky balcony at BCV and a larger one at BWV simply because both resorts have some variation among their rooms. But frankly, those kinds of differences are no big deal and not worth obsessing over. In your shoes, I'd ask my family if they are more interested in the excellent swimming at BCV or the activities and night life at BWV, and choose accordingly.

The best two bedroom would be at the BWV if you can get boardwalk view as the BCV don't have a comparable view. With real young children, you will probably be in the room early each evening and its very pleasant to sit on the balcony overlooking the Boardwalk and see the fire works and entertainers. I personally prefer the pool at the BW for very young children as its much easier to keep track of them. The room layouts depend on your personal preference and are not that big a difference. Each resort is lovely in its own way but nothing beats the Boardwalk view.

I'm not sure - but I think your question is to compare the 2br villas - not the resorts themselves? I just stayed in BWV and BCV 2brs in the last 4 months. Here are the contrasts I remember:

BCV master bath has toilet behind a separate door
BCV master bath sink area has less space (find pics, you will see what I mean)
BCV 2nd br door is next to the entrance, BWV is at the end of the LR
BCV kitchen sink is one bowl, BWV is one small and one larger
I think BCV sink didn't have a sprayer, and in the BWV one the "swan neck" on the faucet barely came into the sink. I found that a pain.
BCV has an oblong table with a three seat bench on the wall, BWV has a round table with two chairs - easy to take into the LR area with the two other chairs for dining
As mentioned, some BCVs have 2Q in 2nd br
Some BCV have very large decks, both have some with double deck from LR to MBr.
BWV 2br can be much cheaper if a SV.
Closet space was about the same, as was the fridge, micro, stove and basic set up with the kitchen.

JMO, I don't think there are enough differences between the two rooms to really matter. Make your decision based on the resort amenities, if you have a choice.
