I have been an owner at BWV since 2015 but have not stayed there yet (all my trips have been at AKL or BCV, and one at the Swan). I will be staying next fall in a standard view studio for a long weekend. We will then take another trip spring 2021 for an entire week. I was thinking about trying a Boardwalk view studio instead of standard view. It's 21 more points for the week which is not a big deal to me, but I certainly don't want to waste points for no reason.

To me it looks like the boardwalk views are very nice places to unwind and that standard are mainly parking lot but close to the buses.

Obviously looking way in advance but I always enjoy this place as a resource!

It all depends. If you are the type of family that wakes up, spends the entire day at the parks and just uses the villa to sleep, then stick with standard. For us, we only spend the mornings at the parks and then hang out at the resort. I love sitting on the patio watching all the people and antics on the Boardwalk. For me, those 21 points are worth it.

I only booked a standard view once on 12 years. It wasn’t bad but we spend mornings and evenings on the balcony. Love looking at the water day and night.

if the points are not an issue, BW view is great. It takes about the same booking discipline to get a BW view reservation as a Standard view reservation, so you need to be on top of this. The worse result is to have to spend the same points as for a BW view and end up with a pool view instead because one night of your desired reservation dates was not available (it happened to me for our upcoming January stay).

Boardwalk view is amazing and so worth it. We just stayed in one for the first time (and first time in a GV - SO GOOD) and I’m going to only book Boardwalk view if possible from now on.

Might like room better elsewhere but can’t beat boardwalk view.
I agree, it’s not my favorite room in general but the view and location are definitely my favorite.

If you are trying to stretch points, stick with standard. If you are looking at it and saying "we have some extra points" - book Boardwalk. We usually book Boardwalk as well.

We've been staying BW view ever since they made it a bookable category - it's the best view in all of WDW, IMHO :cloud9: There's nothing like watching the sun come out over Crescent Lake, fireworks bursting around the Eiffel Tower, watching people & performances in the evenings (we usually get a room between the lobby & BRG). After all these years (& hundreds of visits), we are finally doing Standard View - the point savings over a total of 6+ weeks (4 weeks 1bdrm, 2 weeks studio) is large enough to make it worth it.
And before anyone says, "time to add points", we did already......5 times

We have stayed at BWV several times, always studio and BW view. Funny thing is we have always gotten the same studio. Love the view, however we always have to stand to see the view (not an issue for us) as the bottom of the railing is wall. Hope that makes sense.

We have stayed at BWV multiple times and just go with teh standard view.
We still most of the time at the parks or late evening meals. I use the balcony in the morning, but rarely at night, so paying the extra to be on the Boardwalk view isnt worth it for us.

We bought at BW specifically to book the BW view and book that category almost every trip. We have stayed standard and although the view is not as nice you are far enough away from the parking lot that it is still a great view. If you can spare the 21 points give it a try. It is the only way you will ever know.

We stayed at Boardwalk for the first time in August Boardwalk view. We absolutely loved it. We loved looking out at night at all the activity and enjoyed quiet mornings on balcony as well. One day it was raining, and we could see when the boats started running again and were able to leave our room and go out and catch the boat. I am a person who never requests room location but was glad to have booked boardwalk view

I have stayed both and while I do agree a BW is nice, I don’t spend a ton of time out there to make it worth it. Plus, I like being on the floor with the lobby and a lot of those have the solid wall,

Having said that, if I can’t get SV, then I will choose BW view over garden.

All depends on how much sitting time you will want to enjoy it.

This is why I request "no solid balcony" as this is what the front desk recommended when I asked about how to word my room request so I wouldn't get one of those half railings :goodvibes

we own at BWV and love both types. if we have family coming we get 1 of each, if no family we do BWview.

We love the solid wall (privacy with a great view), but we also don't have little ones or someone in a wheelchair/ECV.
As soon as we started requesting solid wall balcony though, we never got one again :confused3

I request 5029,5031,4029,4031,3029,3031. Got 4029 last month. These are the closet to the elevators and have open balconies.
