BWV to MK transportation questions

Went from BWV to MK today, dedicated bus both ways. Time monitor at stop not working.

We also have a PPO ADR for BOG Tuesday. I'm thinking of using Uber instead of relying on the busses. Has anyone done this? We would want to be at MK at 7:45. What do you think would work best? Estimated cost of an uber?

Thanks for any thoughts!
.

Disney buses will take you directly to the entrance gates at MK.

If you use Uber or take a cab to the Magic Kingdom, you will be dropped off at the TTC and have to take the monorail or ferry to the entrance gates. Or, you could ask that they drop you off at the Contemporary and you can walk to MK from there.

This past Tuesday we had our first pre-park opening at Be Our Guest. We were out at the Beach Club bus stop at 6:40. There was one other woman out there with us who was taking a tour at MK. A bus came at around 6:50. The driver asked where we needed to be- if our breakfast was at Chef Mickeys or the Poly he would have dropped us off there.

:drive:

We stayed at BWV last week. We had dedicated MK bus service all week and Swan/Dolphin even had its own bus stop at MK. We had a 7:55 reservation on a EMM day so we left the room at 6:30ish to make sure we were there as soon as they let us into park (to get pictures before breakfast). When we got to the bus stop the bus was already waiting. After we boarded the driver waited a few more min but nobody else showed up and we were actually at MK before 7 am. Once security opened just after 7 we were able to check in for early park entry. We were let into MK at 7:45 ish.
Oddly we also didn't share a bus with Swan/Dolphin for AK either way also (only went once). Not sure why as I thought service was shared for that park and we definitely had plenty of room on the bus to stop and pick up people.

That bus monitor has been broken since at least 10/15 (our arrival day).

I was there over Christmas and if I remember correctly, Boardwalk had it's own bus for MK. I think that went into effect last October.

funny I was there in Sept - it stopped at Dolphin and Swan on the way to the MK. Think it might be the season - going doing a busy season - no stops - going doing a less busy season - you will be stopping.

I definitely recall reading that BWI/BWV was getting dedicated MK bus service as well. Did this happen one time or did you experience it often? Just wondering as I know they will reroute buses if/when necessary to clear guests waiting at bus stops (esp in the morning). We stayed at WL before and picked up at both Poly and GF on our way to AK one day. Normally WL shares service with CR not the other 2 resorts. Also once at CR we waited a VERY long time for DHS bus (like a half hour) for rope drop. There were SO many people waiting I heard the man assisting with the buses call on his walkie talkie to request a second bus. Both buses arrived simultaneously and were completely empty. Normally WL is picked up first then CR (in my experience) and we loaded to capacity and went right to DHS. So bus routes are never written in stone.

Bus monitor at Beach Club was working last week, but the one at Yacht Club was not.

:sad2:

Hi! We usually take the bus to MK because we have found it comes regularly and on our last two visits (Oct 2015 and Oct 2016) it skipped Swan and Dolphin and went direct. We usually take the monorail back to BWV because we like the ride on the monorail and the walk through Epcot.

We used Uber for the first time ever this past trip. Hollywood studios to Disney Springs was a 9 minute ride and cost $5.85. We used it again to go from BWV to the Poly. Since I am new to Uber I messed up and entered the Polynesian Isles Resort as our destination. Oops!! So that trip cost us more after I realized we were going the wrong direction and had to reroute. I think the estimate before we rerouted was around $9.00 from BWV to Poly. I like Disney transportation but Uber definitely made it easier to get somewhere in a more direct manner. There were drivers ready to pick us up within seconds.

Yes I know that. Just wondering if anyone had taken an uber and what the cost might be.

We stayed at BWI in April and also had a PPO BOG ressie. I wanted to be there at 7:45. There are busses, but I wanted the extra sleep. I called for an uber around 7:20 and we were at MK by 7:40. The driver did ask us if we wanted to be dropped at Contemporary or the TTC as they cannot go right up to the gate at MK. We chose CR and walked over. It was about $8 tops - and well worth it!

Over the holidays (last Christmas), the Boardwalk had a dedicated bus for our entire trip. I will be back over Thanksgiving, so that might give credence to the busy season only.
