BWV Studio - type of view question for booking

Hi I thought there was just two view categories for BWV - standard and preferred. I understood preferred to be boardwalk, garden, pool. When I look at my Disney experience it shows BWV Studio with pool/garden view. Is Boardwalk a separate booking category now?

If you are looking to book through CRO and not use DVC points, I believe garden/pool view is all you can book.

If you are using DVC points, there are 3 booking categories: Standard, Garden/Pool, and Boardwalk.

THanks laura. It was rented thru points but I only see two point categories. Do I book preferred THEN ask for boardwalk?

No, it has to be booked as Boardwalk. Boardwalk and Garden/pool both use the same amount of points, but have to be booked specifically.

When BWV first opened, there were only two categories, Standard and Preferred. Preferred included both BW view and Garden/Pool view and you could request one or the other, but you wouldn't know whether you got it until you checked in. After several years (and I'm sure more than a few disappointed guests who had requested BW view and didn't get it), they made them two separate booking categories but didn't reallocate the number of points required.

You have a reservation for a Garden/Pool view not a boardwalk view and you can't change it without cancelling the reservation and re-booking. Boardwalk view may not even be available for your dates.

It changed around 2003. As a BWV owner, I was happy to see it. I always book at 11 months and love the boardwalk view category.

How far ahead did you book? Boardwalk view can be gone at 7 months, it's only about 20% of the rooms.
