This is our first studio stay, so I wanted to check if the studio has any breakfast bowls and if so are they paper or plastic?

Also I understand the cutlery is plastic - is it okay to use or flimsy?

This is important to us as we will be staying for 2 weeks  and I can bring my own if necessary

Also, is there a toaster? DH loves his early morning toast.

The bowls and plates are paper. The cutlery is the same as in the parks. If you are going to be eating cereal, I would bring your own.

Yes, there is a toaster.

You can use the coffee cups for cereal as well. We bring the small Glad or Ziplock plastic bowls that have a lid for this purpose. Also they work for leftovers if we dine out. And since you also have a microwave, you'll all set. The plasticware is okay but not great. It would work fine for cereal, but the plastic knives are kind of small and might break when cutting or spreading butter.

The bowls in the studio are paper and you only get a few of them, only enough for breakfast the first morning. So when we stay in a studio I pick up some disposable plastic bowls and plates at the grocery store here at home and pack them in my luggage. We wash them and reuse them during our stay and then toss them when we leave. We also bring along a few Gladware containers and lids for leftovers.

I agree with DenLo that the plastic spoons are fine for cereal but the plastic knives probably wouldn't stand up to cold butter. We buy tub margarine and they work OK with that as long as you don't press too hard when you are spreading it.

We manage with the plastic cutlery, but we pack (in our checked luggage) one small kitchen knife. Comes in handy for cutting cheese, sandwiches, fresh fruit, etc.

And this is just one more reason I love my Owner's Locker. I have 4 place settings of heavy melamine dishes..plates, bowls. Also, 4 heavy plastic glasses..large size, and heavy duty plastic forks/spoons/knives. They come in sets for picnics, and haver worked really well for the past few years. So nice not to have to worry about all that stuff every time we're in a studio.

Thanks for all your replies. I think we will take our own mealmine bowls with us, and I will have to see how we go with the cutlery as I don't think customs will be happy with me bringing my own knives, forks and spoons on the plane :)

Forks, knife etc. are o.k. with checked luggage.

Just don't bring them in the cabin...
