BWV Studio Daybed Question

I am renting DVC points for a standard studio at BWV Sept 8-13. The member who I'm renting from booked this for us 11 months out. At that time we requested a daybed room so each child could have their own "bed". Does it make any difference how far out you placed your reservation in order to get the requested daybed? Just wondering what our odds are!? Does it help to phone the hotel directly next week to confirm our reservation and request? Thanks, Jo

Requests are honored based on the time that the reservation is made, so, yes, when trying for a Studio Plus it helps to make the reservation as far in advance as possible.

It's been my experience that for DVC rooms, it does not help to phone or fax the room controller a few days prior to arrival, since the room assignments are usually done in order that the reservation was made - however, other people may feel differently.

My guess would be that with an 11 month booking, you have as good a chance as possible for your request. Keep in mind though that a lot of variables can impact this, for example, whether or not a Studio Plus will be available on your check-in day (maybe they all got used by people checking in a day or 2 before you). And, unfortunately the front desk can (and sometimes does) override a pre-assigned room.

The daybed in the Studio Plus is very small and very hard. Our son was 5 when we stayed there and he did not like it. It was too small for him. It is about cribsized, but narrower and shorter. Compared to the sofa bed, this is a rip off for the smaller kid. I'd have them both sleep in the foldout bed.

I was told that parties of 5 were given priority for the studio plus units (the studios with the small daybed). Hope you get it anyway. Good Luck!

Just agreeing with Bill&Deb's observation. The "daybed" looks a lot more like a bench to rest a suitcase. It is only for a very small child. It's not like a daybed that you find in some of the other resorts.
