BWV stay, so far!

Last month when I stayed at the Boardwalk Inn I remember that on Friday December 16, 2011 there was a sign outside the guard shack which said parking was restriced to guests staying at the BWI/BWV and those with confirmed dining reservations. Plus the line was so long getting in we used the guest side and inserted one of our Key To The World cards so the gate would open, which saved at least a couple of minutes. Anyway once we drove past the Convention Center into the self parking lot we then saw another Cast Member standing at that entrance who checked our Key To The World card and our Boardwalk Inn parking pass before we were allowed to park.

they have been doing so through the F&WF the past few years (thank goodness!) i'm glad to hear they are expanding the security through other busy times :)
frequently in oct though, non-resort guests' cars were using both lanes (a line of cars crossing from opposite side of street, and another line making a right into the resort)....the cars blocked the resort guests' side, and some wouldn't allow any cars access to that lane (moving their cars so no one could go in between). i had to get out of our car, tell ppl that we were staying there, and can we please use the resort guest lane to enter (more than once, i was essentially told, "too bad!" ).
they may have to post a guard there at busy times, to ensure the right lane is kept somewhat open for resort guests. btw, i like the password - it adds an additional level :)
hope the rest of your vaca is wonderful!!

Yes, it looks that way but just follow the left side perimeter around and you'll find more parking. I avoided it because of that same thought when we arrived even though several cars were turning in. I then left a battery charger in the room that I needed to return to BWV for so I decided to give it a try and was surprised by the parking. Just don't stop at the area right when you turn in. Most people did but there are spots that are closer to the villas if you wind your way around back.

That worked! Thank you! Yes, it was closer to our standard view, all the way down the hall villa!:goodvibes

What a lovely way to propose! congrats to the happy couple:cool1:

I'm thrilled to hear of the parking procedure and hope they continue it. Honestly, the overall parking situation is one of the main reasons we are considering selling there.

It sure was special, and she had no idea about the cruise or anything. They were eating at the Yachtsman Steakhouse, and they were late getting to the boat, when he told her about the Birthday Cruise. She was speechless and shy when she met us. Jiminy had asked us if he and she could sit in the back of the boat, an area where they could be more alone. We did not know this at the time, but he began the time by showing her pictures of their courtship, and the last page was the question, "will you marry me."

:) the bar has been set very high for future disney engagements! Just reading something like this can make a less than stellar day shine, thanks for sharing.

:thumbsup2 Glad you found it! It is a good spot to park if you have one of the standard rooms at the end and don't mind the stairs.
